Appearance: opaque due to the very dark brown, almost black colour. The head is deep tan, moderate in size and kind of foamy. It may not last very long and shows a good amount of lacing.
Aroma: yeast, spices and light notes of molasses.
Taste: spices, dark malts and earth hops.
Mouthfeel: kind of dry, moderate to high carbonation and a medium body. Wonderfully disguised high alcoholic strength.
Finish: spices and light bitter lingering aftertaste.
Overall: very good beer. Amazingly refreshing for a strong Belgium beer. In my opinion better than the blonde version. A must try.
Serving type: bottle
