Pours a dark brown with a good-sized head. Aroma is very malty and bready with a touch of molasses and hops.
Taste is roasty and malty sweet. Nice complexity with Belgian yeast flavors, candy and brown sugar, and a good blend of base malt and hops. Some traces of dark fruit, earthy, some caramelly cola, no trace of alcohol flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium, not real heavy, could pass for a dubbel. Nice and drinkable Belgian brew, the text on the label (besides the name) leads me to believe this may have some Scottish influence but it isn't obvious. Good but not exceptional.
