Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel is blond, bubbly, and belgian.
It poured pale blond with a massive bubbly white head. It left a wall of thick white lace with the appearance of Styrofoam. The smell and flavor had subtle citric notes dominated by typical Belgian favors such as lemon peel, banana, and clove. It had a terrific peppery-grassy aftertaste. The feel also was Belgian, light with lots of bubbles, followed by the slightest hint of bitterness.
Dobbelen IPA Tripel beautifully bridges typical Belgian Ales with American IPAs. It's light with bitterness and spicy yet grassy.
