I picked up a bottle of Griffin Claw's Mr. Green Teeth from The Lager Mill. This one caught my eye and I thought I would take a chance on it, so lets see how it goes. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a brown 22oz waxed bottle into a imperial pint glass.

A= The label looks nice, it's got a unique design to it and it's eye catching. It poured a cloudy orange color that took on more of a darker orange hue when held to the light with two fingers worth of white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some nice patchy lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the hops being the first to show up and they impart some nice fruity aromas with citrus rinds seeming to stick out the most and some other fruits showing up in the background along with some green hop aromas. Up next comes the malts which impart a nice pale malt aroma a along with some sweet malts with a little bit of spicy rye showing up at the end. This beer has a nice aroma, but i wish the rye stuck out more.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the hops still being the first to show up and they are the aspect that sticks out the most in this beer while impart the same fruity and citrus rind aspects that it did in the aroma along with some green hops. Up next comes some slightly doughy yeast that leads into the malts which impart the same pale malt and sweet malt aspects that they did in the aroma. On the finish there's a lower amount of medium bitterness with spicy rye and citrus rind flavors showing up in the aftertaste. This is a nice tasting beer, but I still wish the rye showed up more.

M- Smooth, crisp, medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was nice beer and a nice example of the style, but when it came to the rye aspect I thought it was a little on the light side and I wish it showed up more. This beer had ok drinkability, one glass is a good amount for me, but I didn't have a problem drinking the full bottle. What I like the most about this beer is the fruity hop aspects, they were nice. What I like the least about this beer was the light rye aspects, I wish they were bolder to stand up against those hops. I don't think I would buy this beer again, but I wouldn't turn it down, it's expensive for what you get and I would rather have a Reds Rye from Founders. This is worth trying if you like rye to be more subtle, but I can't say it's must try/ Ali in all this beer isn't bad, but it isn't that all impressive either, it falls right in the middle. I think the packaging for this beer is pointless, it's much better suited for pint cans then waxed bottles and they already can beer so I don't understand the thinking behind it. Nice job guys, but with a little more work this could be a pretty good beer.
