Aroma is citrus, piney/dank hops and mild fruit/tropical fruit sweetness. The flavor is grapefruit, citrus, a good amount of fruit sweetness/sugar and a mix of mild heat, bitter and alcohol in the finish.

Clear and golden in color. Taste is citrus and malts. Bitter and boozy. Has a crisp finish with a lingering alcohol taste. Has a smooth taste which makes it drinkable but you definitely notice the 8% abv. Overall, not my favorite style but this gets the job done. I don’t know if this is just me but it seems different but in a good way.

my can of this wasnt the freshest, and i know thats not good for this style, but i still like the beer, even if the hops have broken down a little bit in it. this is maltier than in on trend now, a nice shiny light amber maple sort of color to it and a thick white head, very lively. it smells almost wood aged to me, that light vanilla and earthen property oak often contributes to a beer, but it might just be from the hops and a touch of oxidation, either way, its strange but appealing to me. a little sweetness from the grain too, but it doesnt appear to be out of balance. the flavor is good, bitter all the way through, i suspect a less vibrant hop flavor than when it was brand new, but its still oily and rich feeling in that classic west coast double ipa kind of way, and the bitterness sure is there. faint lemon and orange here, almost warming and baked with all the malt in this, but bubbly enough to cut it and keep it from being too heavy. a little sticky on the palate though, and its hard to really give this an honest assessment without it being at its peak. i will look for this one again when i can try it at its best, but it is a somewhat old school and very sturdy ipa as it stands now.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. And yes, that can came courtesy of the incredible woodychandler. Has an orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, citrus. Taste is a good balance of citrus and malts, a touch of alcohol, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

My Tavour foray CANtinues with yet more CANs that they have shipped to me since signing up. I had a pretty good run during New Beer Sunday (Week 693), but I was left feeling unfulfilled. I am doing my best to get to these as quickly as possible simply because they are just so intriguing. It is an integral part of The CANQuest (tm) to have this inherent curiosity.

From the CAN: "Brewed and packed at 8700 W 47th Street, Lyons, IL"; "Character design by our good friend, Spike Press".

I was SOOO scared on Wednesday night when this CAN decided to jump off of the reefer shelf where I had placed it to cool! I thought for sure that it had been CANpromised, but it only inCANurred a few dents. Phew! It has been sitting upright, settling since then & today is the day. The dents CANpressed the CANtents so that when I Crack!ed the vent open, it was brimful. I felt so badly about my accidental mistreatment that I wanted to cry, but I pressed on with a slow, gentle Glug, murmuring nice things as it was being deCANted. It seemed soothed & once I felt like I was approaching the lees, I backed off & gave it a vigorous in-glass swirl. This action seemed to tickle its fancy as I got two-plus fingers of -dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head from the action. Color was an oh-so-slightly hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose smelled peachy! No, I mean that it smelled like ripe juicy peaches! 8=) I love peaches! Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but pretty close. The taste was definitely peachy, but not as sweet as the nose had led me to expect. Instead, the yeast had given it a slight mustiness & the malt a nice earthiness. Mmm. The nose smelled like either fresh fruit or preserves while the taste reminded me of a liquefied peach pie. Mmm. As a kid, my grandmothers both taught me how to cook & when I got into HomeEc in high school, I found baking to be my forte. I made some great casseroles & soufflés, but desserts were where I really shined. Ironically, I am not much for sweets. I made some award-winning pies & once I got the hang of latticework, cherry & peach pies really shined. The trick was to brush them with egg whites just before baking. Gorgeous, but I again digress. Jeez-O, man, that little trip down memory lane saw me suck down about half of the CAN's CANtents without even a seCANd thought! Was it because I have been indulging in high-ABV beers before this one? Or is it that this one is just that easy-drinking? Either way, it also had enough bitterness & enough of an alcohol presence that I had not CANpletely lost sight of what I was drinking & doing. Phew! Finish was dry, bitter, boozy, but not so bitter or boozy as to be off-putting. I just looked them up on GoogleMaps & they would be an easy visit from CHI on my next trip. Onward!

Pours a hazy orange with an eggshell colored head that fades quickly, nice lacing. Some goobers on the bottom of the glass. Orange and grapefruit dominate the aroma, also the taste. There is some malt sweetness also. I really like this beer and will buy when I see it again.

Poured from 12oz can into a tulip.

Appearance: hazy orange hue with a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. There are a couple of little floaties in the body, but they are small enough in number that I'll let it pass. Otherwise, a good looking beer!

Smell: citrusy and fruity with an earthiness bordering on dank. Complex and dynamic; I like it.

Taste: very earthy but with a bit of citrusy character. Bitterness is quite low compared to overall hop flavor and sweetness. This is an interesting brew; good if you like wet, dank, earthy hops.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess. Not bad!

Overall: this one is definitely a little different, but I like it.

Pale yellow. Thin head.

Citrusy. A bit bitter at the end. Don't have a ton to say about this one but it works. Alcohol is well masked. Good carbonation.
