Full-bodied all-malt Brown Ale with an intriguing hop character balanced by a rich maltiness. Small-batch brewed with two-row, caramel, roasted and chocolate malts. Our proprietary blend of hops creates an inviting note.

Clear, light brown color with a reddish hue. Two thick fingers of creamy tan head that leave nice rings of lacing.
Brown bread malts and yeast in the nose, with a touch of toffee sweetness and overripe plum far behind.
Light tasting up front with a mildly sweet finish that includes some bread, cream, nuts and coffee.
Thicker bodied mouthfeel than expected with a certain creaminess to it.
A light, refreshing, flavorful brown ale.

Hawaii Nui: Hapa Brown Ale review
Poured from bottle, bought in Maui, HI. Poured into a small Sierra Nevada tumbler sampler.
Appearance: Dark amber brown color, nice foamy head with plenty of carbonation bubbles. Nice lacing appearing after pour.
Smell: Caramel, sweet & nutty, sugary tropical notes with hints of toffee and roasted coffee beans with a lingered hop nose to it.
Taste: My first sip, hearing the ocean in the background brought a full sense to the wonderful flavors of this beer. The sweet sugary malt is in full body, with coffee and nutty caramel to sweep over the pallet with the last zing of hoppy bitterness to finish. Very Refreshing, and you can taste the caramel and chocolate malts as they bring out the rich and robust flavors.
Mouth feel: The more you sip, the more the flavors pop out at you and the more you can distinguish the nutty and toffee character with the slight hop as it rolls off your pallet. Bold, flavorful, and creamy yet goes down easy and leaves you with a pleasant aftertaste.
Overall: I really enjoyed sampling this beer, it was well crafted, tasty, and refreshing after a days work, This type of Brown Ale can be drank at all times, but is best near the ocean, mid day, to late afternoon as the day winds down. I liked the flavors that were brought out by the choices of malts, and the special blend of hops gives it a great finish. I would recommend this beer

Muddy brown, hazy brew...the head is thick and creamy tan. It has a nutty aroma...a touch of grain and malt, with some american hops. Balanced, and the mouthfeel is firm. Nice.

From: Whole Foods Market in Honolulu, Hawaii
Price: $2.69
Purchased: Dec. 20, 2015
Consumed: Dec. 21, 2015

Poured a brownish, mahogany murky color with 2-to-3 fingers of light, khaki tan, frothy head. Very good, foamy, layered lacing on the sides of the glass. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled boozy alcohol, toasty bread, roasted toffee, nuts, earthy rye, unsweetened iced tea, light caramel and faint herbal hops. (Smell - 3.50)
Tasted better than the nose, getting rye, unsweetened iced tea, roasty malts, herbal hops, nuts, faint dark caramel, dark wheat bread, some menthol and light Citra zest. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This beer was decent, especially after getting past the smell. Very good for the style. (Overall - 3.75)
