Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

Opaque orange and brown colored body, with light touches of linear carbonation on the sides. Head creation is minimal, seems a little wet coming out of the bottle. Faint half finger tall white head, but dissolves a little quickly. Nice looking body, but the absence of head and wet appearance has me concerned.

Aroma hints at dry grains. Powdery. Slight hinting at milled flour. Minimal if non existent yeast funk qualities. Rather neutral bouquet, with maybe a touch of grass and hay.

Palate sort of plays it quite safe. Muted malts and yeast. A bit of tinny aftertaste through a wet body. Clean finish and dry grains. Lacks complete hints of farmhouse earth and funky yeast esters.

Honestly wet bodied and not much going on for a basic saison. Could be worse, but there's not much to pick out here.

A: pours a hazy and translucent straw gold, foam head has medium thickness and reduces fairly quickly.
S: a mild yeast base balanced with similarly mild malt and citrus notes
T: Immediate sour and tangy yeast and hop notes, followed by a soft honeyed malt sweetness that curls off in notes of different spices and citrus fruits
M: citrus and spices play easily over the light, airy sensation. Carbonation lightly fizzes throughout.
O: This drink immediately makes me think of what a saison has traditionally been associated with over the past century - a light, summer ale with a complex variety of fruits and spices that complement its smooth malt aftertaste. While I do know that original saisons were around 3% ABV, this 4.5% ABV gives the drink a slightly stronger kick that I think plays well with the balanced hops, yeast, and fruits/spices. This is an excellent spring/summer ale for anyone willing to try lounging in the outdoors, or after a long summer workday.
