Visited on a Father's Day Sunday with family, including dog.

V - I would describe it as industrial beer geek brings family to work. A business park setting, but when one walks in the door it is all about the beer. Beer taps in the tap room as well as in the production side of the facility offer an opportunity to look at the equipment as well as their barrel program. My only complaint is their biergarten. Its not a biergarten but rather a parking lot with lots of picnic tables, food trucks, corn hole, etc. The place is definitely dog and kid friendly. 4.5

Q - How can you complain about the quality of beer when you are drinking at the brewery. 4.25

S - We arrived early but the service was already struggling inside. Having only one wireless register to run credit cards and cash was really slowing down things. Folks seemed very friendly though. Talked up someone in the production area about barrel availability and how they acquire their barrels. 3.75

S - 25 beers on tap. At least ten beers available in bottles, not all duplicates of the taps. Of course, all taps available in various size growlers. 4 (1,117 characters)

Really awesome brewery to visit - over 30 beers to choose from. Great sours and wild options, lots of barrel aged varieties. Service is really terrific, the crew really wants you to enjoy your visit and find something you'll like. Inside is really cool, outdoor seating in the parking lot actually works well. (309 characters)

Our favorite place to visit in Richmond's growing craft beer scene. Always 25 different beers on tap (albeit many are flavored versions of base beers), Neil and his folks are always gracious and welcoming. Love the offbeat style of beers and the cool eclectic decor. Always something fun happening there. (304 characters)

I was very impressed by Strangeways. It is the third local brewery I've visited, and it was my favorite so far (between Hardywood and Legend). This place is a little bit tucked away, but if you find it it's good vibes, excellent service, and an overall quality joint. You can't go wrong with any of their main beers, and I must admit that since it was my first visit I was so adventurous to try some of their 'Curiosities.' That said, The brews I had were very good.

The service was awesome, and everybody was not only knowledgeable of their craft, but also eager to help people decide between their interesting selection. They weren't dismissive, or stand-offish as I have found at the other breweries in the area (see above).

I really liked this place, and would highly recommend anyone to stop by and check out what's on tap. Additionally, I would recommend you try their Freeze Ray eisbock; it was quite a malty treat, and a relatively rare find. (952 characters)

Made my first visit for the Tinkin one year anniversary party. Great atmosphere and I really like the tasting room set up. Staff is very knowledgeable. Somewhere around a dozen different brews on tap, had Disintegration, which I have to say is the first offering from them I've been wowed by. Nice selection, decent brews, great setup and staff. (345 characters)

Went by for the first time a couple weekends ago. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and after getting 6 beers to try from the back bar, the "Laboratory", we sat out on the picnic tables and enjoyed. The samples weren't as cheap as other breweries in the area but they are a little bit more out there in my mind and I don't mind paying a little bit more for something that no one else is doing. Ended up getting growlers of the Melon Whap! and the Peach Phantasmic IPA, both were delicious. (493 characters)

This is Richmond, VA and I am from Northern VA, where the cost of living must be double.
So why a $3-5 price on a 5.5 oz taster in a bare room at the brewery, not a real brewpub?

I only tried two; a biere de mars which was thin and weak, and the Woodybooger "Belgian" brown which was thick and weak for the style claimed. $8 for less and a glass of beer? At home I pay that for a flight (4 x 4 oz) of good craft beers.

The brewing could use some work, but the name itself and graphic designs on the labels and t-shirts is outstanding. So they think that marketing is the important part of having a modern business? (616 characters)

My first time visiting the brewery. I really liked the tasting room it felt unique. There seemed to be decent seating capacity and many different types of seats available, bar chairs, benches, or stand at a table or bar. Nice range of beer styles actually had a very nice sour and a heavy sweet seasonal on tap.The servers were all quite knowledgeable and would answer your beer questions.I really enjoyed this brewery. (419 characters)
