Half pint at the 'spoons Counting House in Glasgow. The beer is amber coloured with a decent 'spoons head. There is a fresh citrus nose, mainly grapefruit, but maybe also some tangerine: very pleasant. It feels pretty smooth, but there's a good sweet hit of citrus here with a little brown sugar. Good hops. Good stuff.

Jan. 2014: Shared 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Amber colour, moderate white head. Fruity hops in the aroma, and the Simcoe tomcat has been doing his thing too. Light bodied, as expected. Hoppy flavour throughout, medium dry, good bitterness, long bitter aftertaste.

L- Very deep amber, Tiny haze, pours with 3mm fine-bubble white head, holds really well, even 15mins later.
S- Bright and mildly zesty.
T- Initially the same as the smell ^, and then citrus notes begin to open and develop on the palate together with a hoppy-dry finish.
F- Hoppy-dry though not OTT, together with sufficient body to bring balance. I see it's 4.5% but it comes over as a bit heftier than that.
O- It's nice, there's nothing screaming for attention here, there is a good balance. It's contemporary in feel to me but it's not even approaching being a hop-bomb challenge of a brew. It's still materially hoppy though, so if were to drink it again it's the kind of beer that would work on a really hot summers day.
Bought from Nicolas (wines) London W11, £2.40/330ml bottle.

From a 330ml bottle.
L: Amber colour that turns marmalade when held to the light. Slight haze from suspended yeast. Unfortunately, despite a fast pour, the half-finger head disappears quickly. Some spotty lacing left behind.
S: Malt and simcoe hops in equal measure. Sweet and woody.
T: Sharp and piney up-front with a sweet, fruity finish.
F: On the light side of medium bodied. Oily hops leave a lingering dryness. Light carbonation.
O: An American-style pale ale with a rock-solid malt base. Simcoe hops very much to the fore. Highly drinkable. What is there not to like?

Amber copper color with practically no head.
Aroma with notes of caramels, some earthy and piney hops and peaches.
Flavor with notes of pines, herbal resin, caramel and slightly toasted malts, flowers, a bit of grapefruit sweetened juice, kiwi and tangerines. Not spiced as most American Amber Ales from its origin. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body with stale carbonation.
Average Amber Ale, English with some American nuances. Low carbonation didn’t help at all. On a positive note, it has interesting fruity notes and the hop flavor is assertive and very clean.

From 10/09/15 notes. 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass at a burger joint in Cardiff, Wales, down by the water.
Floral hops, bread and fruity malts. A bit too malty for me.

Appears a clear, pale copper with a small off-white head. Has a strong malty aroma with grape juice and graham cracker, some toffee later on. Plenty of bitter citrus and fruit in the flavor; more hop than malt, unlike the aroma. It's crisp and fairly light with mild carbonation.
Interesting twist with the malty aroma but hoppy flavor. Crisp and flavorful. The hops are really tasty and just bitter enough to make it refreshing.

From a bottle in Edinburgh.
This is a very hoppy amber. Hoppy in the nose; as hoppy as a pale ale in tasting, and mildly bitter rather than sweet. Allowing for the departure from style, this is a fine looking and flavorful amber that will appeal to fans of pale ales.

Poured into english pint.
Pours clear reddish/amber ale with 1-finger oof-white head, leaving some laces, moderate retention. Good aroma of american hops - fruity (peach, apricot), floral/herbal tones.
Flavour is well-balanced, generally hoppy, some malt balance behind. Soft carbonation, drinkable.
