A 500ml bottle with a BB of March 2014. Acquired ages ago from Sainsbury's as part of their 2012 Beer Hunt and subsequently stored in my garage. Hope it hasn't suffered too much. Described as a golden ale with citrus notes.
Poured into a straight pint glass. A rich golden-amber hue with faint haze and good carbonation. Forms a smallish head of white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding. Slight lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt with hints of grain, grass/hay, white grape, mild citrus, earthy yeast and faint stewed hops. Restrained but rather nice.
Tastes of caramel malt with a hoppy character and a dry, bitter finish. Notes of caramel, faint grain, grass/hay, subtle white grape, mild citrus, earthy yeast and stewed hops. A touch of harsh cardboard in the background, followed by a crisp bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with good carbonation and decent body for the style. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter stewed hops, cardboard, faint citrus and earthy yeast.
Not bad, if not stellar. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour showcase mild aromatic hops underpinned by caramel malt. Satisfactory body. Some harshness in the background. The hops don't seem particularly vivid - I suspect that the flavour has faded somewhat. Still, a decent pint that goes down easily enough. Probably better on cask, but worth sampling either way.

500ml bottle shared with a mate during a random beer tasting evening on 15 Feb 2013.
As the name suggests this is a golden brew with hops ruling the flavours. Looked fine, clear and bright in both half pint glasses, each with a small white covering of bubbles.
The actual hop content gives a fairly strong citrus feel throughout: something I'm not too keen on. There are far too many golden citrus flavoured beers on the UK market although to be fair this is one of the better that I've tasted.
