Poured into my Surly goblet....

A - Pours hazy dark amber with a thin white head.
S - Coffee! Really smells like coffee. I don't really smell anything else.
T - Coffee and vanilla flavors with some sweetness on the tongue. This beer probably tastes more like coffee than other beer I've tasted.
M - Medium mouth feel, highly carbonated, flavor sticks around awhile.
O - I like this beer. Different than others I've had where coffee was the leading flavor. (460 characters)

Poured from 16 oz can into tulip.

A: Dark brown with one finger head. Short retention and little to no lacing.

S: Roasted coffee beans and lactose sugars.

T: Much the same as the nose. Subtle coffee flavors abound. There is a slight tartness to this suggesting milk sugars gone bad or a hint of infection.

M: Medium body and fairly lightly carbonated.

O: Nice coffee flavored brown ale. Planning on visiting the other can soon to see if the tartness prevails. (475 characters)

Dark amber brown, thin skin on the surface.
Earthy roasty coffee aroma, fairy smooth.
Tart fruit, roasty coffee taste. Light bodied, slight astringency.
Overall it's not bad, plenty of coffee aroma and taste, thin astringent body knocks points off though. (256 characters)

poured 22oz bottle into snifter.

A - Mahogany brown with lighter brow highlights and a 2 finger sandy head. Excellent retention a gobs of lacing coat my glass.

S - Reminds me of a brown ale, but also has some resemblance to a porter. Pick up the toasted and nutty notes along with mellow coffee. I detect a bit of cola, which is what I find in porters.

T - Rich and malty with some lighter coffee that has some sweetened sugar and cream. Not quite as good as the nose would have suggested. Some nuttiness, tobacco, and a bit of cola.

M - Medium body, but pretty smooth and well executed carbonation.

O - It makes sense that this is their best beer and one that they will continue to brew. It sort of reminds me of Devil Over A Barrel, but without any bourbon notes. (771 characters)

Pint-sized can:

Pours dark brown with a tan, foamy head. Spotted lacing sticks.

The smell is of burnt coffee, slight metallic notes, with an earthy tone.

The taste of coffee not as burnt as in the nose. A nutty brown ale blends with the roasted coffee. Sweet-ish with roast and lactose balance in the finish.

Hits medium-bodied. Enough to the feel to give it the higher of the scores I had in mind, especially as it progresses.

A solid nut brown ale with coffee (with milk). The coffee is more old-school American coffee than espresso. It's not rich, but certainly there. An interesting brew. (599 characters)

22oz bottle poured into HF wine stem split 3 ways.

Appearance: translucent light to medium brown bodied beer. Large 3 fingers of white head that has decent staying power.

Smell: Tons of roasty and nutty malt aromas as soon as the cap comes off. This is a great smelling brown ale and its also got a nice smell of coffee creamer. Almost reminds me of hazelnut coffee.

Taste: Smells just like it tastes. Lots of brown ale nuttiness and coffee creamer. The nuttiness is very nutty and a hint of hazelnut notes are present.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation levels. Creamy carbonation. Very smooth drinking.

Overall: This beer really over exceeded my expectations. This is a fantastic brown ale. I am going to look forward to future beers that Mobcraft brews because they seem to think outside the box and execute their beer well. I am an instant fan!!!! (887 characters)
