16 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, light nuttiness, raisin, plum, licorice, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, light nuttiness, raisin, plum, licorice, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roasted bitterness with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, raisin, plum, licorice, light smoke/char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness that increases through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding English porter style! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. This is very rich and complex for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

I got a can of Tapistry's Peck's Porter for $2.58 at The Lager Mill. It's been a little while since I've had an English Style Porter and I'm interested to see what Tapistry can do with the style, so lets see how it goes. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a 16oz can into a imperial pint glass.

A- The can looks nice, it's got a good design to it and it's just a little eye catching. It poured a nice dark black color that took on a little bit of a brown color when held to the light with a fingers worth of bubbly tan head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some spotty and patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, it's what I would expect from the style.

S- The aroma starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the malts being the first to show imparting a roasted malt, caramel malt, light chocolate and light roasted aromas and it's followed by the English yeast which imparts a typical aroma for english yeast. Towards the end I get a little more caramel along with the hops which just impart a little bit of generic hoppy aroma. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, it's what I would expect from the style.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the malts being the first to show up and they impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but this time it's more roasted and robust with some milk chocolate and cocoa flavors coming through. Up next comes the English yeast which is a little lighter than it was in the aroma and it's followed by the hops which impart a light generic hop flavors with some coffee and coffee like bitterness showing up at the end with a chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt aftertaste. This is a good tasting beer, it's more robust than most English style Porters and I like that.

M- Fairly smooth, a little creamy, slightly crisp, medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a good beer and pretty nice example of the style, it was more robust than most so it wasn't the truest to style, but it worked really well with this beer and it felt like it was a mixture between a American and an English Porter. This beer had good drinkability, I could drink a couple of these, especially when it starts to colder outside. What I like the most about this beer is that I could still tell it was an English Porter, but it was more robust than most. What I like the least about this beer is nothing, there isn't anything that I disliked or would change. I would buy this beer again and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Porters. All in all I was happy with this beer and a little Impressed, Tapisty can make some good beers and it shows with those which is like a fusion of the two Porter styles. It's one of the better Tapisty beers and it's above average for the style. Good job guys, this is one tasty Porter.
