Collaboration with Haw River Farmhouse Ales
Picklemania takes the salted, coriander-spiced gose to the max. Dill, allspice, & peppercorns makes for a positively pickly brew. Savory & spiced weirdness.

500 ml bottle, dated 6/17, poured into a tulip.
A- A super hazy, almost murky, golden copper color with a small head.
S- Lots of allspice, some dill and peppercorns, tart wheat, grainy, salt, some coriander.
T- Tons of allspice upfront and the dill lingers of the back end, touch of sweet groan, some sour wheat, touch of peppercorns, and a nice bring/salty flavor. Not fully getting pickles.
M- Smooth, light to medium body.
O- Allspice is a little overwhelming at first and gives it an almost pumpkin beer quality, but in the end this is a Gose and an interesting idea that is fairly well done

Note: Bottled on 5/24/2016
A: Pours a lightly hazy medium lemon yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of slightly sour wheat and grainy malts with moderate aromas of pickling spices - dill, peppercorns, and allspice stand out with subtle notes of coriander.
T: Upfront there is a slightly less than moderate flavor of slightly sour wheat malts and grainy malts. That is followed by moderate flavors of pickling spices - dill, peppercorns, allspice, and coriander in descending order of strength. There is a lingering light to moderate amount of tartness.
M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly heavier than light amounts of acidic prickliness and a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Very much as advertised, the aroma and taste definitely remind me of dill pickles (or at least the process of making them). Much more drinkable than I was expecting and enjoyable.

Poured ontap at the brewery and served in n a snifter, the beer is a cloudy, light, lemon yellow coloring, with a filmy, frothy, white halo of head. Aromas of toasted grains, subtle citrus, and a heavy hand of dill. Wow! Flavors are tart and crisp wjite grape forward, with toasted notes, and a quick building dill character. Smooth, light bodied, with a dill and tart grape sweet aftertaste. Slightly sour, dry finish. Very nice and amazingly drinkable.
