From the 12 fl.l oz. bottle. A gift from a non-BA trader. Sampled on January 29, 2014.
The pour is a cloudy amber-orange with a lingering off-white or cream colored head. Delicate carbonation.
The aroma is subtle but also hoppy. Earth and pine not floral or perfume-like. Mild toffee or butterscotch malts in the mix.
The body is medium but also a tad astringent.
The taste has a mild caramel/toffee malt character to start and then the out of the ground hops take over the entire character. Good mild to moderate bitterness at the end. Balanced.

12oz bottle from Barrel and Barley (Woodstock, GA). 1.69. No discernible bottle date. Served in a goblet.
Pours an opaque golden amber with two fingers of pale head. Maintains a modest layer and laces quite well.
Pretty straight forward nose with pine, grapefruit and floral hop aromas.
A bitter mix of citrus zest, pine and earthy floral hops. Theres some cracker and caramel back there too, letting you know the malts were not forgotten. A dab of pepper, a speck of sugar and just a smidge of booze round things out.
Slick, medium body with perky carbonation. Dry, bitter finish of pine and citrus peel.
I had dismissed this local release for the past 6 months but I'm glad I picked up a bottle to try. Hop Dang Diggity may not bring anything new to the IPA party but it's well brewed, solid stuff.

Appearance 3.75: Poured out a lovely, coppery gold. No real head, but decent lacing.
Smell 4.0: Great bouquet on this brew. Emphasis is on the piney hops, but there are a few hints of citrus in there as well.
Taste 3.5: Front is dry and slightly bread-like. Middle is flat and also dry. Finish is where a light malt and lots of hops wash in. Like in the smell, the emphasis is on the piney hops: lots of Chinook and maybe some Simcoe. Aftertaste is nice and saves the beer: great balance and very refreshing, "juicy" on the palate.
Mouthfeel 3.5: Good level of conditioning.
Overall 3.5: Good but not great IPA. The bouquet is outstanding, but the brew is far too dry for my tastes, especially the middle taste level. As such, I would recommend it for a try, but it is not a session-worthy IPA in my opinion.
