Been here about 3 times and tried various brews. Every time I have been here the beer is poured terribly, they don't tilt the glass and fill it either half way with foam and keep filling it while wasting beer or just serve it to you half full of foam. I have tried most of their beers and they have all been sub par. They keep coming out with new beers which is cool and keeps it interesting but would be better if they master the base beers before they go and flavor them. Their bottle list is great and specially nice gluten free beer selection. I think their prices are a little on the high side for A. the amount of head they give you, and B. the quality. Overall I want them to succeed and become great so that Winston can have a great beer scene but for now they are just sub par to me.

Go and try them for yourselves.
Cheers!

Small Batch is our go-to happy hour spot in Winston. While we've been going since it opened, the vibe has gotten much better as of late and the number of beers on tap has increased commensurately as well. The servers and beer selection (including bottles for sale and a great bourbon selection imho) have always been great. Definitely try to stop in on pint night (Thursdays) as they release a new pint glass each month, which is designed by a local advertising firm that has connections to the Small Batch founders.

Overall Small Batch has produced a wide range of beers both in style and quality, but for a small brewery in a very crowded beer scene in North Carolina they stand out in my perspective. Worth a visit if you're in the Triad.

Went here during a World Cup qualifier game where the US was playing. The joint was pretty buzzing and hyped when potential scores happened. Apparently it's a pretty soccer friendly place so if you need a place to catch some games and have good food and beer this is your place. They had 8 taps of their beers as well as a pretty good list of bottles and cans and they make mixed drinks too. Really nice selection. I had BBQ chicken nachos and they were also solid.

Great location. We sampled five different style beers--all them were "spot on" for their styles. Service and food quality was surprisingly better than anything we were expecting.

Stop #467 on my world brewery tour.

Stopped in around 6 on a Wednesday evening in early January. Four other people at the long bar. Dimly lit cozy place refurbished nicely and appreciated the indie rock until it was replaced with crummy 70's rock.

Only four beers on tap - hefe, ipa, white ipa, double ipa. Had a flight which cost an astonishing $10.60. The beers were all just ok.

Cooler full of solid craft bottles and I recall them having 1/2 price bottle night(s) so check that one in advance.

This is a really cool spot nestled in to downtown Winston-Salem. Dark, quiet bar type atmosphere, with a long, straight bar on the right. Some bench seating when you first walk in, the bar with plenty of stools, and some high top tables on the left, and finally more of a lounge type area at the far end, with some couches and a booth or two. One huge flatscreen tv at the far end of the space, with a couple smaller versions at either end of the bar. 8 beers on-tap, with beers to go in growler form. They don't offer flights, so if you want to try them all, settle in. The staff was friendly enough, but not overly jovial. Beers were decent, and there is a food menu available, but not all night. Definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in the area.

Small Batch is a cool little, old, storefront. A long and narrow space like Chicago bars. A long bar runs the right of the space while some tables run along an exposed brick wall opposite. It was a quiet night when we visited but a couple tables were occupied and a few spots at the bar. A chalkboard hung against the middle of the brick wall listing that nights offerings. The bartender was quick to wait on us and quick with a smile.

Now, there were a couple odd things about Small Batch as well. Their website labeled all sorts of house beers. When I walked in there were only three on tap. The Limonhead IPA was excellent and worth a couple pours. One of the things I found odd was that the chalkboard listed Modelo as the beer of the day and probably half of the people there were drinking just that.

If Small Batch had as many beers on tap as their website listed and they were of the quality that Limonhead IPA was than this place would be a winner for sure. As it stands the space is great, the bartender was friendly, but the selection was really lacking. I will stop by again for another shot.

We hit Salute, a NC wine festival in Winston Salem, NC, and Small Batch had a booth at the event. Once it ended we moved to Small Batch - and had a blast. The beer menu isn't massive, but it's all quality. Their brews are good - and the guest taps are too, big fan of the 13% Molotov Cocktail by Evil Twin. The food is fantastic, the space is all kinds of chill and relaxed, the girls behind the bar were sweet, helpful and absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to go back.

The location is tough to find parking even though there is a parking gargage right down the street. Looked to be 9 taps taps but only 3 beers on tap at the time. We went early in the evening (around 5:30 pm) so they didn't have much of a selection prior to that. I like the layout and the decor.

From a decor perspective, the place is a nicely re-done former diner which still includes some of the original elements and a really cool wall made of reclaimed pallets. The place was busy but not crowded when I visited and there was a nice variety of clientele.

The beers were well poured and served in appropriate glassware - pint glasses, hefeweizen, tulips, and snifters were used for the different beers that J ordered. Beers were served at a proper temperature and with a decent amount of head for the styles.

The service was OK but nothing special - possibly would have been better if we had sat at the bar rather than the table service. Our server was friendly but not overly attentive and did not seem to have any special knowledge of the beers (either the guest taps from Unibroue or the house beers).

There is not a huge selection but the house beers usually represent a number of different styles (hefeweizen, stout, and IPA on this visit). They were also having a tap takeover from Unibroue which featured a couple of brews I had never come across on tap before.

They are not currently serving any food.

Prices were in line with other places in the area.
