12 oz bottle into a teku.
Appearance: Pours a clear straw color. The head is a finger high and white in shade. Retention is quite poor, and no lacing sticks to the glass. (2.75)
Smell: Holy balls, that's a lot of butterscotch. Unfortunately, I'm getting minimal hoppiness - just butterscotch. Not a particularly good first impression about this beer's quality... (2.5)
Taste: The flavor profile is the same way, though a bit more complex (thankfully). It has a bunch of butterscotch to start, crackery malt to finish, and traces of fruity ale esters are peppered throughout. While not an impressive flavor profile, it does work better than the nose suggested. (3.25)
Mouthfeel: Surprisingly heavy and sweet for 4.5%. This drinks closer to a 6% ale in many ways, and doesn't have the best drinkability as a result. Carbonation is medium. (3)
Overall: This does a few things right - it's rich for the ABV, and generally a bit more interesting than the typical blonde ale. Now, if it had a little more hoppiness, this could really be something. As it stands, I likely won't return to this one. (3)
2.97/5: This blonde ain't that rebellious, unfortunately

"American ale" per label, after pouring and tasting I put it in as an American Blond.Pours a clear very light blond color with a decent one finger white head that held well.Mild floral hops in the nose but mostly toasted grain.Toasted grain on the palate with light sweetness and a smattering of leafy hops in the finish. Not anything that is gonna wow you but a decent after work beer before hitting the "bigger" stuff.
