Love these people. Shop manager lady was so kind. Really great stuff to be found. Not always amazing, but always super nice. Plus, they will have stuff nowhere else has. Love it

I was really excited to discover this place. They sell a great variety of singles. This place has such great potential. Unfortunately, there are some factors, mainly dealing with service and pricing that cause me to downgrade the rating. First of all, they do not label neither the shelves nor their bottles with prices. As a result, I have to call over one of the guys to inquire about a price. They tend to hang out by the cash register and not on the floor. Each time he would give me the price, he would go back to the register only to be called back by me inquiring about another price. This process was repeated like 4-5 times. It was ridiculous. Finally, speaking of prices, these guys charge more than other stores by at least $2 in some cases. For example, I can usually get Dogfish Head IPA 90 for $4.99 and these guys charge $6.99. Perhaps their trying to cover those expensive West Village rents. Nevertheless, with better prices and service to be found elsewhere, I don't see myself coming here too often.

Very nice staff and reasonable prices for some great beers, BCBCS and BCBBW for $6.99 each was a no- brainer. Thank You Carmine Street Beers!

ATMOSPHERE - Great chummy place to talk brews.

QUALITY - So many beers, so many great ones.

SERVICE- Beyond professional

SELECTION - Massive selection, which they scrupulously monitor at beermenus.com. Of course, nobody has everything!

VALUE- For Manhattan, you can get hit with a lot higher prices.

The wife and I were walking down Carmine and stumbled upon this place. It has a "grocery store" sign taped on the door, for some reason. They do sell toilet paper and basic needs, plus some gourmet food, but this is all about the beer.

They deal mostly in singles- I saw some folks making their own variety six-packs. I would go for their "limited release" bin better, with a bunch of Harviestoun Ola vintages, Stone Suede Porter, Goose Island Big John and Night Stalker, Allagash Curieux, Hebrew Reborn and 4-packs of Founders Backwoods Bastard at a reasonable $14.99 (I bought one).

Their menu on beermenus.com also lists Sam Adams Utopias... 14 taps for growler refills, nothing crazy but some good stuff from Dogfish, Coronado, Stone.

I was happy to find this place and come back often when I go to Blind Tiger. It's a nice little craft-beer joint with good prices and good service.

West lower village location, just about a 3 minute walk from the Blind Tiger. One of a seemingly never ending stream of new craft beer stores in the city. You know the deal growler fills (about a dozen worthy/craft options) and shelf after shelf of the typical array of craft and import bottles. Plenty of good beer to be found here. The stay current on Beermmenus dot com which is quite consumer friendly.

Helpful but clueless guy stocking the shelves and friendly enough guy behind the till and filling the growlers.

Nothing crazy special but worth checking out if you need some quality beer and you're in the area/visiting the Tiger...
