We are located in Hagerstown, and we are proudly western Maryland’s first craft brewery. Our ales are handcrafted in small batches using only the finest ingredients and freshest hops to ensure the highest quality and freshest beer available.

Antietam Brewery is dedicated to brewing consistently excellent, delicious and delightful beer that is selectively distributed to the finest establishments in our surrounding locales.

Western Maryland, generally, and Hagerstown, particularly, is steeped in American history. Although it may not make it into textbooks, beer played a big role in the lives of Civil War solders; as a comfort, as a release from boredom and as a palliative dispensed in Civil War Hospitals.

With the Antietam Battlefield and Antietam Creek in our back yard, and an illustrious history all around us, we wanted to make comforting boredom-crushing, delicious handcrafted ales, and that’s why we’re called Antietam Brewery.

stopped in while driving through the area on I-81 to pick up some cans of beer to take home. it's in an industrial area, so the vibe like a warehouse space, but they've got a few tables outside. inside there is a bar with seating and various tables.Good variety of beers on draft, mostly traditional styles with a few experimental IPAs. Also have a cooler with cans and bottles, I got a mixed six pack. Beers were solid but I wouldn't make a special trip back.

We rolled in on a Sunday Afternoon on Memorial Day Weekend, on our way home from visiting family in Virginia, and honestly not expecting much. I've had other experiences at other breweries named after Civil War battlefields or Colonial themes and (and to put it mildly) rarely been impressed... But my wife looked at the menu and thought it looked interesting for me and her AND kid-friendly for the little ones... So we went. As we pulled up to it my reservations only grew larger. It doesn't look (from the outside) like a place that you FOR SURE know has a working kitchen menu, and combining that with the civil war battlefields name/theme had alarms going off.

Boy was I wrong. Food was great. Beer was *really* good. Service was friendly even tho they were "really* busy. Vibe was awesome. Friendly patrons everywhere and really enjoyable live music mid-way thru our visit that everyone enjoyed. All four members of my crew enjoyed it, and we woulda happily stayed longer if we weren't 3 hours from home... Will stop again the next time we're driving the same route after visiting the same family, and will strongly recommend to the entire BA community. Cheers.

It's in an industrial area... they have small bit of catering... the foot was medicore.. they had a band and it was family friendly... but overall I wish it could have been better considering how popular the brew is in western md liquor stores... they use to be Benny's bar in hagerstown so youd think they'd keep the atmosphere top notch, but definetly sacrificed atmophere for the quantity of increasing production... but they did give me a tour of the facility with their canning system.. they've even changed back from vinyl to the craft looking sticker labels... not bad. They will be big time one day so I'm sure they will relocate before long and this review will be outdated. Apparantly they have huge parties during the brew releases and they got one coming up march 9th

I stopped by tonight alone on a trip down I-81. Benny's Pub/ Antietam Brewery is on the other side of downtown Hagerstown from the interstate and is not visible from US 40. There are several motels nearby. I received a friendly greeting and had my choice of seating. The bar was pretty busy, but my drink and food orders came out quickly. Antietam had two IPA's, a raspberry ale, a stout, brown ale Scotch ale, and two quest taps. I enjoyed the Little Mac IPA, and the ribs and fries plate. Enjoyed my visit and looking forward to returning.

We were on our way back from a trip out west, decided to stay in Hagerstown for the night so we could visit the Antietam Battlefield the next morning before continuing on home. When checking in to a local hotel on Rt 40 east of town, I asked the manager if there were any good places to get some craft beers. Lo and behold, there was a brewpub less then a mile away - Benny's pub, home of Antietam Brewery. Within minutes we were seated at the bar, enjoying some freshly made beer. Benny's is in a strip mall just off of RT 40 on Eastern Blvd North. It's kind of tucked away off the road so you have to keep an eye out for it, but there is a sign for it amongst all the other store signs for that strip mall.
It was crowded when we arrived at 6 pm, with an interesting mix of people. Some were there drinking inexpensive PBR, Natty Bo, and mixed drinks (it's a full service bar) while some were there to enjoy the local brew. We sampled 7 different beers (I believe they are 5 oz ponies for around 2.00 each); my favorite was the Maibock (8% abv), with Otto's Orchard Raspberry wheat beer (6.5% abv) a strong second. All the beers were good, and we had Crab & Cheese fries to go along with them. There was a bit of a "Cheers" vibe in that many people seemed to know one another, and the bartenders knew most of the patrons. It was certainly a fun place to relax after a day's driving, and now that I know about it I will make it a stop over when traveling the I-81 interstate.

Went here for lunch and a beer while in Hagerstown for the day. Very cool active brewery and pub. We were literally sitting 5 feet from the mash tun while the brewers were brewing.

Good beer selection and tasty sandwiches. I had the "fat bastard" and my wife had the "rueben", both were great! Would definitely visit again.

The Antietam Brewery is hidden in a strip mall right off of Rt. 40. Its actually affiliated with a local stereotypical Hagerstown bar called Benny's pub. Its very relaxed and chilled place. Has a rock/hard rock theme and vibe to it (Zeppelin, Buckcherry etc was playing in the backround at dinner time hour on weeknight).

I really enjoyed a few of the Antietam beers (some missed the mark), but the place is kinda fun and the food and service was good. If you are coming through Hagerstown its worth a pitstop, and will give you a feel for the general culture of this town.

This is the new kid on the block in Hagerstown, MD. I was there last night and was able to talk with someone involved in the brewing process. What is even more exciting and unique for this area is that they are brewing their own beer. Overall, a great place with knowledgeable bartenders that seem to be on board with the brewpub transformation (this place used to be just a restaurant/ bar).

Good service with mostly pub fare, this place is actually close to my home so I'm anxious to see them succeed. So far, I have tried several of their brews and have been impressed with the quality and style selections. At the time of this writing, they had six beers on tap, which is pretty impressive for a young brewpub. It also sounds like they have some interesting ideas about new beers they will be putting on draft. I cannot wait to see what they brew next! Bottles coming soon??
