Piney, citrusy, and soapy hops. Light pale malt. Slightly on the bitter side with some oiliness. A sipper that is an above average wet hopped pale. Not one I would rush for, but a good beer.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Thank you to shan8454 for this one in trade.

Appearance: Cloudy orange amber color, with a lot of carbonation. Over 5 fingers of thick, foamy off white head.

Smell: Citrus, hops and pine notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of bitter hops/pine with some mild sweet citrus.

Overall: Decent brew. I would have this again.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, a bit of hops. Taste is well balanced. Malts up front, some hops kicking in at the finish, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

Looks like murky apple juice with a thin, white head. Smells of citrus with a bit of vegetal pine. Tastes of big fruity esters with citrus hops. There's a lingering bitterness and some toasty malt. Moderate body with mild, creamy carbonation. This is OK. Not too impressed.

Southern Prohibition Devil’s Harvest has a thick, cream-colored head, a very hazy, orange-gold appearance, a few stray bubbles visible, and a lacing curtain left behind. The aroma is of sweet, white bread, sugar, and hop oil, with a background dankness showing up. Taste is the same, with lot of piney bitterness and a shade of alcohol showing itself. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and SPB Devil’s Harvest finishes semi-dry and decently drinkable.

Appearance: Hazy, copper/orange body; big frothy white head; long lasting, good lacing

Smell: Malty; citrusy; some pine notes from US hops

Taste: Malty on start with a big resiny punch up front; semi sweet in the mid; dry hoppy bitterness lingers at the end

Mouthfeel: fairly thin but the carbonation is just about right

Remarks: pretty good example of the APA style.

Poured from 12oz can into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate haze and some tiny floaties in the body. HEad is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Not bad.

Smell: sweet malt with a floral hop character that makes the whole works seem a little soapy. I'm not necessarily against this, but in this case it just seems muddled.

Taste: sweet and caramelly, with a hint of biscuit in the malt. Hops are still quite floral and soapy. It's not terrible, but perhaps just not to my taste.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a nice carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: it mostly just doesn't work for me. It's kind of messy and muddled, and the amount of biscuit and soap just don't appeal too much.

A-hazy gold color with a white head and leaves a heavy lacing
S-citrus and hop balance
T-strong hop taste with a good citrus grapefruit taste that gives you a good hop bitterness
M-light body and high caronation
O-great beer that has a great balance of hops and citrus, and I hope we can get this in Alabama soon

Southern Prohibition Brewing - Devil's Harvest, poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Look - Pours a hazy orange amber with a massive foamy head that retains well and leaves exceptional lacing.

Smell - Aroma is typical muted APA, bready malt with a dash of citrus and pine.

Taste - Taste is thin malt but a nice boost to the hops here. Fruit but mostly pine hops here, finishes floral/pine.

Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with balanced carbonation. Nice juicy feel. No booziness and real easy to drink.

Overall - This is a good sessionable APA. It has enough hop flavor to not fall on its ass and it's an easy drink.

Had a glass on draft and enjoyed it. I'll be looking for it in the store. Good flavor with a good smooth after taste. Just enough hops.

Extra Pale Ale. Great beer.
Appearance was what you'd expect from an extra pale ale. Orangey in color, slightly hazy, pours easy and leaves a nice head. Quintessential Extra Pale Ale.
The nose on this beer is a fine one. You really can't appreciate it from the can. Tulip glasses are perfect to bring out the hop aroma. There is almost a fruitiness in the smell, followed by rich hops but almost in a subtle way. Swirl your glass an extra time, you'll get it.
Beautiful hop characteristics come through in the first taste. On the fore-tongue the hops mix well with an almost perfect carbonation. Slight bitterness rounds off the later tongue as an extra pale ale should. Goes down easy.
Mouthfeel is medium well brewed for easy drinking. But those hops, still boiling around in my mouth after the initial taste starts pushing outwardly, awaiting the next taste. The sidewalls of your mouth totally get what's coming to them. What a beautiful Extra Pale Ale.
This beer is totally worth the taste or extended visit. So is the brewery.
In the can - it's really about the same. Very consistent beer throughout. It really is a beautiful beer in appearance and taste. We keep some at our home in the can all the time.

And the cans are sexy.

Had Fresh via one bad ass looking tall Boy!
Artwork is on point! Very well done.

This brew is a terrific, very drinkable Pale Ale, especially for a 1st offering.
Pours real nice, Smells nice, drinks real nice.
Hits the spot over and over again.

Sum it up: I'll be drinking this one often enough!

BTW: Love the Tail!

This is one of my "go-to" beers.

Pours murky and golden, as to be expected
Nice medium sized head and great lacing
The aroma is very pleasant. It smells of hops, very "earthy", with slight fruit notes.
The taste is very well balanced. You get tons of that great bitterness and plenty of citrus notes, yet it's still an easy beer to drink. No puckering here; this one goes down easy, almost too easy ;)
The mouthfeel is the best part about this beer. The hops do their job well and will stay with you for a while.
I can tell no discernible difference with this beer served from the tap or from the can. Devil's Harvest is always fresh and eager to please.
Overall... Well, I'll just say I'm in love. At first I thought it might be a simple crush on the local brewery. But this has turned out to be one of my favorite beers. I would recommend this one to anyone. Southern Prohibition is doing wonderful things for the beer culture in South Mississippi. Give them a taste!

tasty new school american pale, thanks to my buddy for bringing it back from jazz fest for me. not too often i get to drink beer from mississippi, so thats awesome too. its a nice pale, bright yellow in color with some soft frosted haze to it and a nice tall white head. looks great in the glass. it smells nice too, balanced, definitely short of ipa in the hop intensity, although hops absolutely lead the way here. the grain bill is super light in flavor, fresh gentle cereals, maybe a nip of wheat, but its simple and allows the hops to stand out without being brutally dosed. some tropical grassy notes in there, vegetal and brand new, this is definitely fresh beer. decent oil content too, sort of west coast, but without all the bitterness. great carbonation, fluffy in the mouth, and i like the way the most pleasant aspects of the hops linger, again without the bitterness. i only had a single can, but a six pack would have been an easy proposition.

Very middle of the road for me. Certainly not offensive but this is not something that I will revisit. The hops are mostly floral and nature and rather soapy... The more I drink, the less I like this. Something just isn't right... I usually like southern prohibition beers as well this one just doesn't do it for me
