Formerly Devil's Harvest APA (2016 Revamp)

Devil's Harvest is a golden, crushable IPA with a ghostly hue. A moderate dose of oats help cloud up the beer while grabbing some hop oils from the large dry hop of Citra and Mosaic. By only using whirlpool and dry hopping techniques, we have cut down on bitterness while raising the aroma in this small 4.9% ABV interpretation.

Original Description:
With a full mouth feel and bold aroma, Devil’s Harvest is a flavorful hop bomb.

This extra pale ale uses rich Munich malt to balance out the four hop additions. With a full mouth feel and bold aroma, Devil’s Harvest is a flavorful hop bomb.

Only 4.9 ABV, goes down smoothly. Not as bitter as your usual IPA. Great IPA for the hot days!

Tall pour on tap at Mugshots bar and grille in Flowood MS
Pours a hazy golden orange with a good one inch thick frothy bubbly white head that persists. Bready hoppy decent session IPA

Very good session IPA. The taste starts out weak, but it’s the after taste that surprises you. Very good beer to start your day, or to introduce new combers to craft beer. Not the biggest fan of session IPAs, but I understand the reason for the existence, and SP did a good job with this one.

New review here, since I've got my hands on this again. Always nice to revisit things with a fresh perspective. Have passed it up a few times since I've been down south as it has not been that impressionable to me but here I am again.

This was a single purchased at Marcello's and had the same date stamped on top of the can carrier it was snapped from as every other 6 pack in town - 9/22. Now I'm not sure what that means exactly, but there are no dates on the bottom of the can so it's hard to know if this was actually from September or not.

Poured into my Ghost In The Machine giant rastal.

Appearance is nice and cloudy with a bright and light yellow, and a super thick head that doesn't quit. Very nice.

Aroma is of breakfast grapefruit juice and slight mint. Slight Christmas Tree or evergreen (is there a difference?) and some dry herbs and/or dry grass.

Flavor is dry grass primarily, with an aftertaste of grapefruit peel, impotent unfresh mint, and very slight lemon zest.

Feel is creamy and supple with a nice body and soft carbonation. Best feature.

Overall, SoPro makes great beer but this one sort of falls off the radar for me. There's nothing unique enough to keep me crawling back for more, the flavor is not something I particularly look for in an IPA, and the lack of can dating on the bottom of this particular beer for whatever reason will continue to steer me away.

Probably will pass forever and always.

Original review (6/12/18):

Fresh 12 oz can, canned 5/16/18, 27 days old. Pours a hazy light pineapple juice color with a creamy head of 2 fingers, destroying my nonic pint with lace.

Aromas of citrus, mint, and evergreen.

Flavor starts with cracker, then mint, orange peel, clementine, and dough. There's an evergreen/spearmint note that gets in the way of the juice, and that leaves it coming across like drinking Christmas Tree water.

Feel is crisp, acidic, clings to the palate both with acidic juiciness and hop oiliness.

Overall, this beer was touted to me as a totally orgasmic breakfast OJ IPA. It didn't strike me quite like that, definitely not on par with New England IPA's, but it's the best IPA I've had from the dirty south so far, and I like the mint, it's an interesting crowning touch.

Breakfast IPA is a good name for this one. For an IPA, it is mildly hoppy. It is crisp. There is just a hint of citrus. It’s lemons colored and had a thick head with heavy lacing. This is a really pleasant drinking beer. Tastes great and its not heavy. Carbonation is light and smooth. It’s got just enough body, hops, and crisp to be very enjoyable early in the day and also on a hot day. Although I enjoyed this one a lot in October. I bought just one in a flight sixer from Kroger and I’m wishing I bought all six of these.
