Poured from an undated big as 25 Oz can
A: Hazy and golden with billowy head that leaves thick lacing
S: Subtle aromas of fruit resin
T: mango, plum, bitterness and earthiness
MF: A bit of thickness and a touch of sweet. There is a lingering piney bitterness
O: very good beer. Took a couple of sips to appreciate it. But I liked it more and more the further I got into this beer.

If you have been following me on other social media outlets, you may be aware that I spent a glorious nine (9) days in Chicago in early June, drinking beer and exploring my third-favorite North AmeriCAN city (behind only S.F. and Pittsburgh). I also scoped out various Binny's locations and found this "BIG ASS CAN! 24 fl. oz" on the shelf at their South Loop location, which is where I normally go, given a) its proximity to Union Station and b) its attached Tasting Room. On with The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: No verbiage, but a cartoon of a monkey, his razor blade, the cornice of a building and Willets Tower in the background.
It was much too big a CAN to be playing with, so following the Crack!, I employed a gentle Glug to produce a finger of French Vanilla-colored head with reasonable retention in the face of today's summer heat. It left some nice lacing as a going-away present. Color was a very pretty Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was very Belgian-yeasty, with a pronounced mustiness, like old newspapers were an adjunct. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was super! Black pepper, dried flowers, slight perfume, freshly-mown grass were all tastes running across my tongue. Wow! This was quite the CAN of beer. Since there was so much of it, I decided to allow it to warm up, which was not difficult, given ambient temperatures in my kitchen. Warming, it got a mintiness to go along with the black pepper and as such, if finished REALLY dry. I'm talking bone-dry. Gasping. Where is my asthma inhaler dry! F**k yeah! Tell me again about how AIPAs have peaked. I'm all ears!

24 fl oz. 'BIG A$$ CAN', no canned on date present. A new one to me from SlapShot Brewing Co, this one a Belgian Style IPA w/ Amarillo Hops per the label.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - Pours a somewhat dark coppery sienna orange body. Just under two fingers of frothy soapy white head that stays for a while and leaves good sticky strands of lacing behind. Looks very nice.
S - A lightly floral aroma. Some mild alcohol phenols. Mild banana. Maybe a bit of Belgian candi sugar.
T - Taste is the same: fruity, juicy, yeasty, lightly spicy. Fresh floral hops. Fruits in the form of orange, mango, pineapple, strawberry. Sweet & sugary. An interesting combination of ingredients.
M - Feel is smooth & juicy. Medium-bodied. Very easy-drinking for the moderate abv. Nice carbonation.
Overall, a nice Belgian style IPA from SlapShot. Definitely one I would be willing to revisit.

Not a comment on the beer but the delivery method. Crowlers = 2 more oz. than bombers and easier to transport. Good to see cans making a comeback.

Aroma is mangoes/kiwi/tropical fruit, spices and a hint of Belgian yeast. The flavor is Belgian yeast, tropical fruit, malts and a mix of tart and mild bitterness in the finish.

A bit hazy with most of what you expect out of a Belgian IPA. Certainly a good local go-to if you're looking for a solid choice.
