I had a 330ml bottle.
Appearance : pours dark red Amber colour with some cloudiness. Good off white head that has pretty good retention.
Aroma: very pleasant roasted malts a bit like burnt toast and some light floral hops as well.
Flavour: excellent caramel malty flavour, good full bodied mouthfeel, great bitterness throughout which I was not expecting, more like the astringency of an IPA so I was impressed.
Overall : an excellent beer. Love the colour, aroma, taste and solid bitterness. Well done to the Brewers on this one.

I’m rather looking forward to this one - Killer Sprocket have so far been a rather decent brewer and this Amber Ale, which I’ve [disclaimer] had before on tap, was one of those brews that I wish I had taken notes on: Yes, I sometimes just drink a new beer without reviewing it, I know: Shock/horror! In any case I don’t know if it’s the impending requirement of light winter clothing here in Queensland (aka the place that still reaches 20 Celsius even in the middle of winter) but I’m really gravitating towards the darker amber fluids like there’s no tomorrow (spoiler: there is). Only problem is I’ve already covered off all the major Aussie Amber Ales, so I’ll likely run out by July.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a nonic pint.

A: Hazed mahogany body with a 1.5 cm an almost tan head that leaves some decent lace on the side of the glass. Quite a looker this Amber Ale, sort of thing you want to tuck straight in to. 8/10.

S: This is a toasty/roasted/caramel/nut feast for the nose! As far as Aussie Amber Ales go this is up there FTW. Earthy overtones as well... simply a winner in these stakes. Hints of citrus hops linger on in the background. This is one mighty fine Amber! 9/10.

T: Flavour takes on a more subdued note with the above noted aromas coming out with the notable difference being a bitter slant towards the hops - not good in a style that should favour sweet malts over hops, but forgivable purely because it’s a nice tasting brew - it’s clean from front to back, malts are complex enough (though lacking) and the hops have a nice earthy/herbal character in the finish. 7/10.

M: Mid to light bodied with a crisp/tight carbonation - works well enough without distracting - though more body would be good [I think Sir Mixalot wrote a song about that]. 6/10.

D: This isn’t the Killer Sprocket Amber Ale I remember from when it was first released - and the ABV has changed from 5.2% to 4.8% which might go some way to explaining why I liked it better last time. Here’s my [free!] advice to Mr. Killer: Change the hop profile - you’re killing this brew with disproportionate hop bitterness and amp up the malting - and then you’ll be on to a killer, rather than a slightly killed, brew. 7/10.

Food match: Yankee pot roast.

330ml poured into tulip

L - clear, ruby red, frothy pale brown head about an inch thick

S - subdued aroma. Lightly roasted nuts, floral smells

T - bready malt backbone, only faintly roasted. Fruit (raisins, currants), nuts (almonds) and hint of milk chocolate (almost like cadbury's Fruit n Nut). Spicy bitterness towards dry finish.

F - moderate carbonation and thickness, dry texture,

O - good, bit more roasted malts compared to other ambers/viennas would have made it better.

Hazy amber colour. Small light tan head. Fair head retention.

Bright citrusy aroma. Bits of resin. Nice.

Bitter and lightly malty. Touches of toast. Good earthy character.

Medium body. Moderately high carbonation. Very good

An excellent beer. Lots of hoppy flavour. Well integrated.

330ml bottle purchased from Slowbeer in Melbourne.

Pours a properly deep amber colour, almost a fine red like a pinot noir. Head forms a solid froth of beige to start with, settling out to a fine film and sturdy ring. Carbonation is fine, and there's some serious weight to the body, despite being only just over 5% ABV. Looks pretty impressive.

Nose is also very pleasant. Big rounded malty notes come through with a little toasty nuttiness that works well with the sweetness. This is punctuated slightly by a subdued but present hops note, which lends a little sharpness—although when this mingles with the toasty characters from the malt it turns a little metallic. Overall though, it's very good.

Taste is also good, if more tending towards the standard amber ale characters, with a slight dark malt character towards the back and a lilting but ultimately ephemeral hop bite. On the front though there's some pleasant chewiness from the body and richness from the malt, giving a little caramel and more of those nutty characters. Finish is abbreviated slightly by the toastier malt characters, meaning the sweetness drops out. This is actually no bad thing from a drinkability perspective, but the sweet, nutty characters are the most pleasant flavours on the palate, and they're lost slightly by the end.

Feel is smooth until it gets chopped at the end, but mostly it's really nicely done.

Overall, this is a cracking beer, and a great first release from these guys. I love that they've packed a lot of flavour and a lot of body into a beer of this ABV: it makes it both tasty and drinkable—and I do see myself drinking more of this.
