4 ounce snifter pour at the brewery.
Thank goodness for AZWB's BA beers. They've been the winners. This being one of them.
Beautiful caramel color and thick look. Looks like what I want in a barleywine.
Smells heavy of caramel and brown sugar, but also has a vinous, musty quality. Intriguing and appealing. Strong brown bread notes. It smells like a monster.
No heat first off. That's huge. Clean tasting. Bourbon here is mellow. Only shows bits of oakiness, vanilla to suggest the bourbon barrels. But that's good. The base beer has all types of fig and raisin and brown sugar and can stand on it's own. In combination, they all work. Tons of flavors moving here.
Love the drinkability and clean feel. Thick and gooey and sweet and not showing any booze. Only a touch too much carbonation, otherwise, excellent.
