Appearance: Body is honey in color. Pure white head has decent lacing and good retention.

Smell: surprisingly hoppy on the nose but it does not come across as bitter. Wheat notes are subdued behind the hops but give the aroma a nice soft landing on the nose.

Taste: hoppy. Not much traditional wheat flavor at all. Not necessarily a bad thing since this beer comes across as a very mellow drinking pale ale but with a wheat base.

mouthfeel: Smooth, decent amount of carbonation, and drinkable.

overall: not a bad beer at all and if you are in boise and want to checkout a brewpub there probably isn't a better place than Sockeye to checkout.

Grabbed a keg of this two weeks ago for the house. I love supporting the local beer in the home keg. This beer poured out golden orange with a nice haze through it. clouds swirlled around in the glass and made for a great display.

I like the taste and with a keg I was able to experience the taste change with other flavors. I tryed this beer with lemon, and 3 different types of oranges. It was great with all of them but I honestly prefered it alone. The activity on this beer was great.

I was able to drink this beer night after night. It was perfect for the hot July that we just had here in Boise Idaho. If your looking for a good wheat ale this might just do the trick.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a hazy caramel amber with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of bready malt, wheat, light tartness. Flavor is very mild wheat with hints of lemon and cracker. Surprisingly lightly creamy body. Very mild flavor, although the wheat is dominant, reminiscent of a plain saltine in having a soft, light wheat flavor with little other flavor notes. While ordinarily I'd find this a flaw, I found this mild pale wheat ale to be a superb dinner ale, there is little flavor distraction from the ale and the overall impression is light and pleasant. I think this has a lot to do with the nice medium, lightly creamy body which is quite pleasant. Nothing outstanding, but enjoyable.
