This place has good reviews and was a quick drive from the hotel. The beer selection was awesome. We had (on tap) an imperial pumpkin and some otter creek double dose DIPA, probably the best beer of the trip. The pizza (you say flay bread, I say pizza) was fancier that I usually get back home but it's worth it. Be warned, the large pizza lasted my wife and me 3 meals, so don't be afraid to order the small.

What a sad little place this was. Kind of in an area of shopping centers and strip malls and big box stores. Very worn around the edges, well past its Glory years. The depressing country music didn't help matters much. Well they had some very diverse taps, it was just enough to fill a flight of four. Service was a bit slow, all in all I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Stopped in here for lunch while training for work. Cool open concept room with 40 or so tables and some seating at the bar. Taplist maybe 25 deep with a focus on local but some oddball out of state beer like The Bruery Or Xata and a few cans and bottles like Heady, Focal, and Peche Mortel. Pizza is really great I tried the meat coma or whatever it was called and the buffalo chicken. They got us in and out and the service was great. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

With the likes of Dogfish Head, Ninkasi, Anchor, 21st Amendment and Founder's being some of the well known brewers, they keep a good selection of Vermont breweries as well even getting some of the easier to find HF beers. S.O.S., Heady and Focal show up in cans. Value seemed reasonable for the Williston area. Service can be iffy from time to time. I've never had bad food here, always on par to awesome. Recommend! Note: this is the Williston one as the one in Rutland is mostly the same, I'll save my thoughts on that place in a separate review.

Relatively large tap list, but nothing really all that special. A ton of craft, of course, but one would expect - due to the location, the name, and the sheer size of the tap list - to find some really good stuff, local or national. You can definitely find a good beer here, and likely in the style you're looking for (outside of sours), but this is not a must-see on your beer destination.
Pizza was only OK: good ingredients, but a touch under cooked.

Visited Rutland location which had a kind of a poor selection for a place with the name Vermont Tap House & Grille. Wound up having a Fiddlehead's IPA because the selection didn't offer me much of a choice of brews new to me. Food was OK, but again nothing special. No Foley's, which is just up the road, and no Hill's or Lawson's. When I go to a place called Vermont Tap House I expect to find a bunch of Vermont micro-brews. Sorry, but you won't find that here.

I'm a regular at the Vermont Tap House in Rutland, VT. Sure great to have an enjoyable, clean place to enjoy some great beers. The food (especially the pizza) is fantastic and reasonably priced. The place is always buzzing with activity. Definitely worth several visits.

Was drawn in by their "large" selection of great VT brews and the beer list (the night we were there anyway) turned out to be a bust.
While the staff was all very friendly, the service was terrible. We were seated close to the kitchen and right near one of the wait stations and it still took 15 minutes for someone to come to our table and the place was half empty when we sat down.
Food was pretty good, they use really fresh quality ingredients. Pizza was tasty too.
Not the best experience we had in VT.

My family and I pulled into the VT Tap House on a whim and it turned out to be a good choice. The pizza was good, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the beer selection is without a doubt the best in the Taft Corners/big box area. There were no Hill Farmstead or Alchemist beers offered at the time, but there was an adequate list of local and regional beers on tap at fair prices.

This has to be the best beer selection I've ever seen at a pizza place in the suburbs. The selection changes frequently and most of the 20 or so taps are devoted to Vermont beers ranging from the ubiquitous Switchback to the harder to find Hill Farmstead. The food is good as well. The menu is mostly flatbread pizza's that feature local ingredients where possible. The decor isn't bad, considering the place used to be a Ponderosa, but it seemed a bit inauthentic to me. Let's just say they didn't manage to make the interior look like a VT farmhouse.

Dayum, This is not what I expected from a business in the middle of box store central in a former Ponderosa location.
This place is great, nice bar area, plenty of dining room space. the staff is prompt and helpful. The bar staff needs to come up to speed on beer knowledge, but that should come with time.
Decent beer list with a good mix of locals, regionals & national brands.
The food is awesome with the vast majority of ingerdients come from local producers. The entire resturaunt is decorated with prints taken a local farms, vineyards & breweries where their product come from.
If your in town, well worth the stop.
