Poured into a New Belgium goblet. No freshness date.

A- Pours a medium golden color with a 1/2 inch white head that retains decently before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a small center patch of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.

S- Crisp aroma of light, bready malt and mild noble hops. A tad musty.

T- The malt is flavorful yet restrained with more breadiness and the hops balance things out very nicely. Actually, the hops start to take over the flavor with some mounting bitterness. Still, things don't go overboard.

M- Just enough hop bite to keep me interested without pushing the envelope on the style too heavily. Medium carbonation and a light body.

O- A hop-forward pilsner that I could easily see myself knocking back quite a few of at some sporting event or outdoor activity.

Poured from a can into a pint shaker, because I'm too lazy to grab a pils glass.

Pours a nice, clear, straw yellow. Moderate head, which holds pretty well.

The aroma is clean, with grain and a slight citrus battling it out for primacy. It smells a tad hoppier than one might expect, but not over the top.

Very nice taste. It's clean, with no overt fruitiness. There is a small presence of a honey-like flavor, but nothing major. It's mostly pilsner malt, clean, bright, and slightly tart and acidic. Nicely put together, and something that would be a very good hot weather brew. Again a tad more bitter than one might expect for an "American" pils, but not way out of whack. Definitely more an Americanized Czech than what one thinks of when thinking "American Pilsner", and that's not a bad thing in any way, shape, or form. No DMS, no diacetyl, nothing that shouldn't be there.

Mouthfeel is crisp and bright, with that tartness and acidity in the flavor playing all the way to the end. It isn't sharp, but it has a bite. Just what would work in hot weather, again.

This is pretty well done. It isn't big on anything, and nothing stands out. Just a nicely balanced, if ever so slightly overly bittered American pilsner. It comes in cans, so I could easily see sitting by a pool, lake, or creek drinking these all day. Worth trying if you're in the Memphis area.
