IPAs are certainly beers that lean towards bitterness. Many balance that bitterness with a lot of residual sweetness, not something Davin wanted. Instead, he wanted to balance the beer by providing a nice fluffy texture by using malted and flaked wheat which also helps showcase the juicy hop aroma and flavor. Hops add bitterness and flavor and aroma, depending on the variety and when they are added to the brew process. Cascade and Centennial hops give Ananda juicy citrus, mango, melon aromas and flavor.

Pours a cloudy golden honey with a finger of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with little lacing. Faint citrus and pine aroma. Taste follows nose.

12 oz can from a mixed 12 pack.
Appearance. Clear amber colored body with a very good, sudsy off-white head.
Piney and herbal hop notes dominate the aroma. Bready malt notes seem to replace some of the pine in the flavor, but piney hops linger on in the aftertaste. Moderately strong and bitter for the style.

Can
L-ever so slightly cloudy straw yellow. 1F white head fades moderately quickly with nice lacing
S-pleasant hop forward with peppery and savory notes
T-balanced and more subtle than the nose. The grain gets kind of lost but there’s a mild spice and the hops are present
F-crisp and easy drinking. Moderate carbonation
O-a solid IPA that makes no missteps but doesn’t stand out. Crisp and refreshing, probably best and enjoyed on a hot day.

Picked up a single from the Long Shoals road Exxon gas station cooler in Asheville on 9-14-21 for $2.09, Canned on 6-2-21; consumed 11-28-21. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured golden with a very nice white head that has some good hang time.
Nose is floral hops forward, nothing super pungent.
Taste is a smaller pale malt base with grapefruit and orange, finishing with a nice rind bitterness; 6/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty refreshing.
Overall a quaffable IPA that i would have again.
