Another beer courtesy of the legendary woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a orange/brownish color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pumpkin, some mild spices. Taste is good, pumpkin, nutmeg, subtle spices, very easy drinking and refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall this beer was not overspiced as many pumpkin beers are, tasty and enjoyable.

Each time that I think that I have reviewed my last pumpkin beer for the year/season, another one pops up! I really do think that this will be my last until Fall 2014. I purchased it at D's Six Pax & Dogz in Da Burgh during my most recent visit and raise a toast to The CANQuest's (TM) hitting the 1K milestone sometime in 2014. Cheers!

From the CAN: "We Love Beer."

The Crack! was nice and loud and the inverted Glug went beautifully, producing two fingers of dense, light-orangish head that put me in mind of the froth on an Orange Julius. Do they even make those any more? Color was a cloudy orangish-amber (SRM = > 17, < 22). Nose seemed heavily dosed with nutmeg, although I could also smell cinnamon in the mix. The mouthfeel was kind of thin, but I liked that they had not overdone it with the spices so that the malt had a chance to come through. I was reminded of a Christmas cookie, spiced, but with a bready quality, also. Finish was semi-sweet, the result of the admixture of the spices with the malts. It was not the best version of the style that I tried over the course of the season, but neither was it the worst.

Appearance - Poured nearly 2 fingers of light golden khaki head, color of the body is a hazy orange amber - almost like the color of pumpkin pie filling. The head dwindles to a cap, and doesn't leave much in the way of lacing.

Smell - Big pumpkin spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, some very light clove, and some light sweetness like whipped cream.

Taste - Very spice forward, exactly like the nose with spices of nutmeg and cinnamon, with slight clove at the back of the tongue, also getting some light minerals, and some wheat bread crust. There is some light sweetness here too, truly like light whipped cream. The flavors here are all pretty good, but seem just a bit watered down.

Mouthfeel - Lighter side of medium, carb is medium and somewhat cleansing, with plenty of edges across the tongue. Finish is somewhat clean and a little watery, with lingering spices.

Overall - A pretty good pumpkin beer, has the right flavors, but on the lighter side. Would be easy to knock back a few of these, nearly sessionable. A decent representative of the style.

This pours a hazy orange with a one finger white head that disappears rather quick leaving little lacing on the glass.

Smells just like pumpkin pie spices... cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves... I also detect a brown sugar sweetness and a bit of toasted crust. Smells good!

The taste is pure buttery pumpkin and spices... I get a little hint of vanilla that makes me think of when i put cool whip on my pumpkin pie... delicious!

I love this Pumpkin beer.. I always have this and Schlafly's Pumpkin in my fridge for fall... this is a more easy drinking lighter beer, while Schlafly is more of a beast in comparison. I actually drank my first one of these while raking leaves outside and i love the aroma and taste mixed with the smell of the leaves... ahhh, gotta love fall!

Cheers

A- Pours a crystal clear, medium orange with a small head. Retention is ok and there is just little bit of lacing.

S- Pretty much all pumpkin on this one. Pumpkin scent itself is fairly authentic and juicy. There are some hints of spices, mainly nutmeg and cinnamon. Really smells like a pumpkin pie.

T- Basically the same as the scent. A predominantly pumpkin flavor goes throughout the drink. Hints of spices, just like the scent. The taste also has some malt flavors in it, with hints of caramel malts and more brown ale flavors.

M- Light and highly carbonated. Pretty smooth overall and easy to drink. Pumpkin flavor is a little heavier on the palate.

Overall, this is a pretty solid pumpkin ale. Nothing especially different or unique, but I enjoy that it is not over-spiced like other pumpkin beers.

A- Murky orange and brown with a 1 finger white head. Slightly soapy lacing.

S- Pumpkin pie all the way. Aromatics of sweet pumpkin filling and wafers with a nice touch of spice. Leans on the sweeter, softer side without giving way to too much of an artificial aspect.

T- Flavor is once again in line with sweet baked pumpkin pie. Flavor profile isn't overly deep with bold spices, but smooth, with notes of vanilla wafers, biscuits/bready crust, marshmallows, and cream. Just a well put together beer.

M- mid body near light. Fair drinkability. Could have used more depth and complexity. Moderate carbonation. Average depth and complexity leaves me wanting a little more.

O- The nose is absolutely stunning. One of the better pumpkin beers i have had. Could go for more complexity with a stronger presence of nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Overall though, its hard to complain.

Appearance:
Clear, vibrant orange body topped with a thin, white head that vanishes quicker than kids at bedtime. Plenty of fizzy action though.

Aroma:
Clean is the name of the game. Everything here is well executed, light, and clean. Cloves and nutmeg dominate the aromascape with faint traces ofpumpkin and pecan. Summed up, they trapped the lovely smell of a fresh pumpkin pie in bottle.

Taste:
Follows the aroma nicely.. this is pumpkin pie in a bottle! All the hallmarks of a classic Thanksgiving favorite are here: pumpkin - check, nutmeg - check, cinnamon- check, allspice - check. Light bitterness from beginning to end. Satisfying finish and aftertaste - you'll swear you just wrapped up Thanksgiving dinner!

Mouthfeel:
Medium body and smooth. Plenty of carbonation. No real noticable alcohol. Easy to drink with a semi-sweet finish.

Overall:
I love this time of year... the colors, the weather (usually), and the pumpkin beer! While this isn't my favorite, it's a close second behind Southern Tier's Pumpking. For me though, this one has a one-up on Pumpking - it's availability. Easy to obtain, easy to session, and easy to love.

O'Fallon Pumpkin Beer has a thin, off-white head, a hazy, orange appearance with lots of bubble streams, some suspended brown chunks, and thin lacing left behind. The aroma is strong, pungent, sweet, wheaty, pumpkiny, and spicy. Taste is all of that, with no artificial or off aspects. It is not too sweet or overbearing. Mouthfeel is medium, and O'Fallon Pumpkin Beer finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and fairly sweet. This is one of the better pumpkin beers I have tried.
