Notes/Commercial Description:
This smooth amber ale uses toasted hemp seed to create a nutty flavor in the finish that compliments the rye and hops (a botanical cousin to hemp). The wide assortment of flavors harmonize, creating a uniquely smooth and flavorful beer!

Murky orange color, hazed over somewhat brown, with a wispy but somewhat sticky tan head. Not much lacing, but a bit stays around.

Nose is sweet, with a nicely toasted and citric aroma. Victory and crystal malts lend a sweetness, peppery rye in the back.

C-hops lend a crisp edge of hop bitterness to the flavor which is rounded off by a buttery malt texture. Toasted malts, peppery hop and rye content. Hemp seems like a reasonable addition, doesn't do much to the flavor all around, but there's a nuttiness and complexity to the flavor.

Bubbly but not too overcooked, nice size for the style. There may be too many cooks in this fire to really forge something great, but it's an interesting take on a banal and overdone style. Worth trying but probably not a repeat for me.

This beer uses a great mix of rye and hops. It pours golden and hazy, with a finger width head, with no lacings, and decent carbonation. It has rye aroma, with a strong rye taste, with hints of caramel, herbs, and citrus. it is drinkable, no edge, and has rye after taste...

Poured into a pilsner glass.

Clear orange/amber color with fluffy pumpkin colored 2 finger head. Good head retention and decent lacing on the glass.

Caramel, citrus, grain, and malt smells. Somewhat sweet.

Good flavor. Caramel, hops, rye, woody, not too sweet tasting. Very drinkable.

Medium body, a little watery in the aftertaste. Bubbly tingle helps.

Overall a very drinkable, refreshing Amber Ale. I like it.

A: Pours a clear amber with a creamy, pillowy white head.

S: Aromas of caramel, lemon, biscuits, black pepper, toasted hemp seeds, and rye bread present themselves on the nose.

T: Notes of caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, rye bread, black pepper, herbs, lemon, lime, and hemp seed coat the palate. The finish is long and turbulent with caramel, rye bread, lemon, and black pepper notes vying for dominance.

M: Medium in body, dryish, and unusually velvety in the mouth. Carbonation is firm, but not all that intense. Very drinkable for the style.

O: This is a very nice little ale. I have no clue why I put off trying this for so long because I really enjoyed the unusual mélange of flavors presented by this beer. Definitely worth trying for fans of the style.
