Poured into a 12 oz. stange glass, which worked perfectly.

Dark, saturated burnt umber tone. Light tan foam, a finger or so, then it settles to a skim with wispy edges. Lace drips its way back into the liquid and hangs around the edges.

Alcohol is somewhat perceptible, along with some toasted malt character and hoppy spice. Bready, tobacco, brown sugar.

Fruity esters surface in the taste, cantaloupe or melon, plum, dried fruit and bitter walnut. Low to medium bitterness, hop flavor is herbal, earthy, and fresh. Very malty, a rich blanket of toasty malt tidal waves across the palate. Carbonation is somewhat low, but it doesn't distract. Definite sipper.

Drainpour, bought in Cleveland. Pours dark with faint beads of a head. Malty, raisin and chocolate aroma, and some coca cola. The taste is chcooalte and mollasses, didn't work for me. Middling mouthfeel. Weak for the style. Didn't feel like 10% but some alcohol warming.

Pours a clean ruby-amber, with substantial off-white head. Exquisite, detailed lace. Beautiful!

Nose is caramel malts all the way. Hops here are dialed way back. Malt fans, rejoice!

Taste is also a more toasty caramel malts, with subtle hints of an almost fruity note submerged beneath. Sticke Alt is a rich tasting experience, with nary a hint of the high 7.5% ABV. A solid drinker, but, for me, one to enjoy slowly.

Pours a some what murked up & thick brown/chestnut with a pinky of tan head. Some lacing & average head retention

S: Herbal & woody hops mix with brown bread.

T: Follows the nose along with figs, raisins, dryness & grainy/boozey persimmons up front.

MF: Chewy as all get out, a touch warming, fantastic balance, creamy carbonation & a touch of grainyness. Figs, grainy brown bread, booze & dryness are on parade as this warms. Finishes dry with grainy figs & pomegranate, plus a touch of boozey cherry & some solvent boozeyness as well

Drinkable as a double alt can be. I like where O'Fallon was reaching for on this, I hope we see more such as this in a 4 pack format! A touch warm booze-wise. I would happily pick this up as a seasonal release; if an option

12 ounce bottle. Served in a stange glass, the beer pours a murky brownish/red color with about a half inch tan head and some sediment floaties noticable in the glass. Head retention and lacing are both OK. Aroma is bready malt, dark fruit, toffee, and some caramel. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some booze, molasses, and a medicinal flavor that was noticable as the beer warmed up more. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and syrupy with a good amount of carbonation. The more I drank of this, the less I liked it. I don't think it's a bad brew at all, but in the end I just didn't care too much for it.

A: Dark brown and hazy with a full light tan head.

S: A slight roasted character. A little tart as well. A good amount of malt aroma in there along with some floral hops and a slightly bready yeast smell.

T: Sweet ripe fruit, dark slightly burnt caramel. The fruit comes for a second pass in the finish, as well as a dash of earthy hops. The after taste is roasted grain.

M: Medium bodied. medium carbonation, and very smooth.

D: Very nice, enjoyable. A very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, with a flavor that it quite delicious. Not amazing, but very good, and it hides it's alcohol well.

Color: pours clear, medium golden-brown. sits slightly hazy, deep caramel

Smell: rich malt character, showcasing bready German varieties along with a slight fruitiness, slight floral hop character and a sharp, but balanced, alcohol presence

Taste: first thing to take note of is the alcohol. seems to be just a little boozy. a profound but noble hop bitterness is balanced well by a very clean and crisp bready malt and minute fruity character. finish is clean, balanced and slightly dry.

Mouthfeel: smooth, low-medium body with lo-medium carbonation

Notes: strong, malty - yet well hopped - ale that drinks like a lager and approaches light brown ale characteristics

Seemed way too heavy handed for the style - at times knocking on the door of barleywine. Hazy caramel brown. Sweet malt aroma. Up front sweet malt - caramel and brown sugar - followed by a blunt hops bittering, combining for bittersweet finish that was discordant. Boozy alcohol bites at the end. A fair bit of brown sediment at the end of the last pour. Not digging it.

Poured into a short tumbler.

Pours a deep ruby, with a thin light tan head, that falls rather quickly. Leaves a wisp of foam, some lacing, but it slides down into the beer quickly as well.

Aroma of dark fruits, figs, raisins. Some anise. No real hop aroma.

First sip is of alcohol, dark fruits, plums, raisins. No hop flavor. No real bitterness perceived. Tastes more like a strong Scots Ale. Very malty. Nothing alt about this, much less sticke alt. It's all alcohol and malt.

Mouthfeel is full, sticky (no pun intended), some warming alcohol. Carbonation has no impact on flavor or mouthfeel. Actually tastes a little flat.

For a Scots Ale, this would be pretty good. As a sticke alt, not so much. Not sure what they were trying to hit with this, but I call it a swing and a miss. Not impressed.

A - Despite the twist off I got a 1/4 inch of head that pulls back to a thick lace ring. Beer is a rich deep amber color, clear and vivid.
S - Caramel malt, touch of biscuit, and a dose of floral hops. Doesn't smell as sweet as I hoped.
T - A bit of caramel malt, dry biscuit malt taste, and some floral hops that rounds out the dry finish I tad but it really fades to nothing. Balanced despite the higher ABV.
M - A tad harsh which I didn't expect for such a moderate ABV. The taste of the alcohol is rather hidden so it is drinkable

Overall a double Alt brewed by O Fallon is not terrible but its just not worth the $3.50 I paid for the single.

No date. 12oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass. Looks nice. Pours a nice average brown, kind of deep, color similar to iced tea. Nice white head that that doesn't stick around for too long, decent lacing. The aromas aren't bad, lots of malts, faint amount of hops. There's a decent nuttiness to this one. I'm also picking up some chocolate and maybe some vanilla and dark fruits. The taste is completely unbalanced. Whatever flavors they were going for, which seemed like nice flavors, are drowned in alcohol. Very boozy. Finishes very warm. Mouthfeel isn't that bad, it's undercarbonated, but seems light and thin for how heavy the beer is, surprisingly smooth mouthfeel. Drinkability isn't good. The flavors were disguised with the alcohol, which is extremely noticeable.. not too pleasant. I actually considered pouring it out, but I don't do that.

Too boozy. This doesn't make a bad sipper though.

Poured this brew into a 3 Monts Tulip...

Body wise, this is pretty murky and brown in color. There is a finger thick amount of white head that retains very well.

In the aroma arid hops aroma is upfront, with slight hints of caramel in the end.

The taste is rich and chocolaty at first, goes into a cola middle and dives into an herbal/coffee/semisweet chocolate finish with some ethyl kicks.

This is a pretty tough beer... Feel wise it's crisp and prickly upfront, and not too oily in the middle, but the warmth from the alcohol is there to make sure you don't just guzzle this beer.

It's a pretty far fetched Alt beer, but I see similarities with the olde German style. I guess if you add steroids to Hannen Alt, this is what you get.

Poured from the bottle a dirty mahogany color with floating sediment and a thin off-white head.

Faint malty aroma with a touch of dark fruit and an earthy graininess.

The taste was malty with a bit of dark grains. The 10% was fairly well-hidden. A touch of bitterness in the finish.

Lighter bodied with a sharp carbonation.

A decent Altbier but nothing I must have again.
