Appearance: Dark brown body with a little dark amber lingering at the edges. Thin light beige head.
Smell: Chocolate, caramel with a definite sweet-smelling whiff of upcoming sugariness. Some toast, roast, and a sliver of fruit.
Taste: Chocolate, caramel, and roast cloaked in the heavy sweetness of Coca-Cola which lost its suds. Some estery fruitiness. A little light herb and bitterness. While it never ever dries out, at least the sweetness settles somewhat. It's a beer that requires an accompanying glass of water. Is it a case of a stuck fermentation, under attenuation, or what?
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Yes, it's a lil' bit sticky alright.
Overall: Some beers leave me scratching my head, wondering if this is really what they had intended. Simply put, it feels like an under-attenuated (or worse) beer they decided to pass off on their patrons. Still, the flavors present are likable and the low ABV is appreciated.
