When creating the recipe for this beer, we bore in mind what one associates with oatmeal. Hence the base was laden with a bunch of oat flakes, roasted malts and roasted barley. The end result reflects this - intensive flavours, a coffee and dark chocolate aroma and a creamy texture. So we would not smother this, we added only as much hops as was needed to delicately balance the flavour.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of quite roasted, bready malt and lighter coffee, milk chocolate and hints of herbal hops. Taste is a good balance of quite roasted, bready malt, coffee and lighter milk chocolate, as well as hints of tobacco and herbal hops. Finishes quite dry with a medium bitterness and some roasted malt and coffee lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation.
A very nice Oatmeal Stout that is very much dominated by a deep, rich roastiness and coffee notes, as well as some lighter, sweet milk chocolate and hint of bitter, herbal hops. While the roastiness may be quite dominant here, which I personally don't mind at all, there's still a good overall balance to this, with some sweet and bitter notes balancing things out nicely, while this retains quite a dry, roasted and bitter character. Perhaps a bit light in body, but really not too bad, with a nice mouthfeel as well.

Pours a tar black color, with a half finger white head, exhibiting a stable, bubbly structure.
Smells of slightly metallic milk with some earthy fudge and sweeter toffee. Offers faint coffee, together with wooden bakers chocolate. Has a milk chocolate silkness, which defines the aromas, as the beer warms up.
Yields a medium body with a decent silkness, revealing a pleasant balance between roasty earth and sugary toffee.
Tastes of a slightly metallic carbonation, blending into burned, smoky wood and toasty, earthen malts. Onto that foundation, flavors of cold coffee and smooth milk chocolate mingle together, creating a pleasant mouthfeel with a lighter body to it, providing enough malt character to keep the palate satisfied. Finishes with warming syrup and toffeeish turning malts among pleasantly bitter coffee.
Well balanced, easy drinking beer, featuring a pleasant milk smoothness, coated up by well pronounced malts.

Almost black. One finger of brown foam.
Good smell, cocoa, a bit of coffee, vanilla.
In the taste a good hoppyness, maybe a bit too strong, and so, a bit less smooth.
But, a god drinkability too.
Cocoa and vanilla in the aftertaste, with a good bitterness.
Maybe a bit more oat will do, but ok.
