Lockruf Weizen
330 ml bottle, poured a hazy murky amber brown. Some good really creamy head with nice retention and decent lacing. 3.5
S –ripe banana, fair bit of clovy spiciness, honeycomb, creamy lemon pastry. Sweet and floral, good amount of crisp yeast presence, pleasant but restrained. 3.75
T – a creamy fruity body with a good bit of balancing crisp acidity. Lemon citrus, spiced nuts, banana, and some mild yeasty musty notes. Quite an unaggressive profile, it nonetheless has a nice yeasty spice to it and a subtle balanced fruitiness. Mild but quite good tasty flavor. 4
M – it is creamy and quite light, slight carbonation and bite to it, feels like it needs more of a firm malt backbone, but has a nice full finish with a crisp fruity spice to it and a creamy/tart aftertaste. 3.75
Enjoyable weizen, very drinkable, light and fresh, good clean wheat aftertaste. Wouldn’t have minded some more boldness but this makes a lovely summer refresher, balanced and good yeast profile. 4
