Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, pine, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with candied citrus zest and some herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with hop flavors that lean more towards the citrus side of the spectrum.

Can from trade. Thanks! Pours a dark amber red with a creamy one finger head on top. Big time aroma of bready malts, caramel, toffee, somewhat dank and sweet fruity hop character I guess. This smells like nearly no hops are here at all...hellooo barleywine. Flavor is like raw malt extract, no real bitterness, toffee sweetness (but not overly so), and some metallic undertones. Big slick heavy mouthfeel, low to medium carbonation, lingering raw malt water finish. I hope this is just old and not what was intended, no date on the can so no idea. Not offensive by any means but not what I was looking for when I grabbed an IPA.

omakase-style hopping? so why rate this if it is going to change each batch?
I liked the aroma, very citric and sweet, but the taste is a little off-kind of bitter and the malty sweet doesn't really work for this, I feel. it's alright. it's a vehicle to get where you want to go, but I don't feel it's a great brew. perhaps 'some' of those batches might have been.....
