Reminds me of cross between Belgian tripel, a French farmhouse ale, and a failed high school chemistry experiment. The Belgian/French notes held promise, but there was some other component to it that had a strong chemical taste to it. The fact that the beer wanted to constantly foam up and run away did not endear me to it either.

Literally the worst beer I have ever had in my life. Acetone and soap on the nose. The flavor literally kicks in the gag reflexes. Do not drink unless you don't care and need to get drunk

Pours a deep red/amber with tons of foam expected from a Belgian style ale.
Tons of funk right up front a little too much so, dark fruits, caramel, and burnt sugar.
The funk certainly carried over into the mouthful, tons of dark fruit, and lots of caramel malt.
Medium-heavy bodied, very high carbonation (foamed over), bitter, dry, and funk.
Overall, I loved the malt aspect of this brew, but I could have done without the fruit as IMO it was not done well.

A- Looks like molten caramel coming out of the bottle, Dark and cloudy hazelnut in the glass, Puffy and dark cream colored head about three to four fingers in length.
S- Dates make their presence known immediately. Smells like a confectionary, very sweet, with hints of banana and other esters. I'm also catching some malt at the end. Malty and toasty smell perhaps coming from their yeast strain.
M- Medium mouthfeel, creamy with a good amount of carbonation that tickles the tongue
T- Starts out very sweet, tastes like candy. The dates again make their presence known right away along with a quick hit of citrus, perhaps the pomegranate. Finishes dry and sweet, with a tinge of alcohol burn and a lingering smokiness to it.
Overall- First and foremost, I loved how the dates complemented the natural ester taste/smell of this belgian dark ale. I also enjoyed the full range of flavor that this beer provided. Very impressive and very tasty. Do be careful though, like many other belgian beers, the high ABV (8.9%) will sneak up on you.
