this is the best pumpkin beer i have had from denver, and is way to good to have come from this new brewery. its got a gingerbread malt and spice complexion, but stays away form the usual suspects like cinnamon and clove, and it really shows the squash better than most pumpkin beers ive had. its so pumpkin forward, not pie, not baked, but straight up squash from the field, i know its hard to do that, and this does it really really well. there is plenty of body for late fall warming, and the finish is a little long, but its not the spices that linger like most pumpkin beers, its the grain weight and the pumpkin itself. vanilla sweetness in the middle, and maybe a molasses rawness in here too, but it never gets sugary. just extremely impressive beer on the whole, especially in a style where so many beers tend to taste exactly the same, this is a great deviation from the norm.
