Purchased in Shibuya, Tokyo in Dec. 09. Consumed in a pint glass on 2-27-10

A - This beer popped like a champagne bottle. There was a ton of 'brune' color head, lightly flaked with little yeasty clumps of fun. This beer was cloudy with those same yeast flakes. Cloudy like a mud puddle. The beer's natural color was a leather-brown.

S - Sweet cherry and citrus. Slight caramel and honey tones. Pleasant.

T - Toffee, smoky caramel with a bit of 'smores'. After taste had too much charcoal.

M - Impressively smooth but with a strong alcohol burn.

D - Good all around beer. Nothing outstanding, but nothing to complain about either.

Pours a nice ruby-red-tinged mahogany brown, and a thick tan head. A really nice looking beer.
Unfortunately, the smell doesn't measure up to the appearance. There's just not much there. A bit of sweetness. Maybe a slight cherry smell. It's ok, but nothing spectacular.
Well, the taste certainly is nice. Complex, malty sweet, and again, I taste the cherries. What a smooth, well-rounded taste, and a great aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is a medium body with a medium carbonation. Nice.
For 8%, this is extremely smooth and drinkable. A really good beer.

BB 9-06 Poors in withoverwelming and thick head lasting well. Very dark collored but clear beer. Nose is very citrussy and spicy( sweet gale) and mostly caramellic malts. Tase is very peppery, sweet gale and spicy overal. After a while it gets more caramellic but aftertaste is being dominated by quiet high bitterness and litle roast. Hardly anything noticable of quiet high ABV. Full mouthfeel and right carbonisation makes this brew easy drinkable but still enjoyable.
