A-Former Future is a medium to small-sized brewery located on a re-developing strip of South Broadway. The space is narrow and long with about twelve comfy bar stools and a half-dozen six-top tables up front. The back is open and exposes the brewing equipment. The vibe is upscale for the neighborhood with leather bar stools, exposed wood, fancy light fixtures, and a very cool airplane wing bar. Seriously, the bar looks like a Cessna. The place was pretty mellow when I visited at about 7 pm on a Friday night.

Q-I tried one beer at the bar and brought one home in a growler. The beer I tasted at the bar was a well-built new-style saison and the beer I brought home was a single hop APA. Both were above average, but nothing spectacular. I did not see any guest taps.

Sel--There were eight taps on when I visited with a good spread of flavors and style. All of the beers seemed to have a unique spin on the style, e.g., dark saison.

Ser-The bartender was prompt, courteous, and poured properly. She didn't hesitate or roll her eyes when I asked to fill a growler, either, which is nice. The beers were served in appropriate glassware and the beer was the right temperature.

F-They don't serve food, but they do have pretzels and nuts.

V-My growler fill, taster, and pretzel were 20 bucks. I'd say that is about right for the area.

O-Cool space that has some thought behind it. The beers are above-average, but not spectacular. I would go back because I liked the vibe.

A: Somewhat quite for a Friday afternoon but there was a decent anount activity.
Q:: Mixed of quality but the Prim and Porter was very good.
S: Service was quick and friendly
Sel: Had 8 or 9 beers on tap
V: Fair price for a sampler
0: you can bring your own food, which is great since Maria's Empanada's is right around the corner

Atmosphere - long narrow space with airplane wings for the bar and the most comfortable chairs I have ever been in, not just at a bar. Lots of space and tables with access to the equipment as well. You never know the crowd you are going to find on south Broadway, which is always something to look forward to. This place is just fun to attend and a must for the local scene.

Quality - The beers range in style, but the quality is pretty good for such a small brewery. Cannot wait to see what they do when they start bottling in the coming months!

Service - The place is small, so just it can be busy at times. The waitstaff like to talk with the customers and I enjoy that. It isn't your regular grab and beer and on to the next customer experience. Makes it more personal which I personally enjoy.

Selection - Quite the unique offering and I am enjoying the different styles they are creating. The capacity is small, so some days there are 8 beers other there are 4, but that just means you will have to go back and try them again.

Overall - with lots of barrel aging and sours coming up I think former future will soon need larger equipment to keep up. I think they are quickly coming into their own on South Broadway. Highly looking forward to what they will be offering the Denver beer crowd in the coming months.

i like this a lot, but like a new breweries, there are some kinks to sort out, namely, hours of operation and running out of beer. just one beer on last night, and for being open just two days a week, thats rough. the beer though, was excellent, a dry hopped belgian wit with some uncommon new zealand variety. the vibe is great too, cool airplane theme with an impractical but fashionable bar made from a plane wing. long narrow orientation with dim lighting and a very hipster cool kids crowd, maybe a touch of prevention, but hopefully south broadway will shake that out of them rather quickly. the beer list was impressively interesting, so i was sad they only had one on. ill bet they already wish they put in a bigger system, or at least more fermenters, as the place was packed. service was okay, again bugs to work out, but a good running ship for just a week or two of operation. also, the most comfy bar stools in denver, all leather and backs and arms on them, some recline, really nice and cozy. the beer was lovely, and the prices were fair, just five bucks a globe, generous pours, i can support that. I'm sure these guys will do well once they figure out some more time to be open and a way to keep beer available. i had fun and will be back as soon as next weekend.

"Soft" opening night on Saturday 2/1/2014. I arrived 30 minutes after the 6pm opening and sadly the Salted Porter was already gone. Opening night brews on tap were the Farmhouse IPA, Wit, Robust Porter; all decent. Some minor service kinks. A long building/bar layout accommodated a packed opening night crowd relatively easily.

I'm happy for the owner(s)/brewer(s)/staff they are finally open, and I look forward to them getting into their groove and putting out more brews!

This place has been trying to open for a while, and with much anticipation. While there is no sign outside, yet, it is finally open.

It's a long, rather than wide, space. Bar up front on the right looks like a Cessna wing--it might just be. It's neat, but it also slopes a bit so watch your glass. Opening night, and I just wanted and expected beer. The furnishings are basic, but more will come. Low top tables on the left even with the bar as you walk further inside. After the bar a half-wall separates patronage and the brew center. It seems that people will be able to watch (and smell) a new brew batch only 5 feet away. Kind of cool.

I only had one beer, was feeling tired, which was the Salted Caramel Porter. Not bad at all...first of its kind for me.

Service was excellent. Staff was friendly and eager. This spot will be hopping as it builds a following and relations with neighborhood.
