On tap at Device Brewing Co
A: Pours deep orange amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Fruity, melon, citrus zest, pine, herbal earthy notes, an a little caramel sweetness.
T: Pine and citrus, lemon, herbal, earthy, some stone fruit and melon, light tropical notes, faint toasted malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, a little bit syrupy.
O: Feels a bit disjointed with big bitter pine and citrus up front followed by sweet fruit and caramel that got a bit cloying at times. I wouldn't mind trying it again in the future to make sure I didn't just get a weird batch.

Since I don't know what a "perfect" Triple IPA tastes like, I am giving Basilica 3X a score of 4.75. But let me tell you -- if I could have only one IPA for the rest of my life, this would be the one that I would choose. While it is extremely hoppy, it manages to avoid tasting overly resinous or floral. Device Brewmaster -- I genuflect to your craftsmanship!

Gold honey color with off white head and good lacing. Strong malt sweetness with some caramel and a ton of resinous hop aroma. Sweet malts up front cut by bitter resin and dank hoppyness that lingers on the palate. A very dank and resin like triple IPA. Very good.
