Pours a brown to slightly orange brown or rosy brown in color with a 3 finger full white head that leaves light lacing. It's translucent and resembles a tropical punch when held up to a bright light.

Fruit (from the lime zest and Motueka hops) and spice (from the Sterling) on the aroma. Definite lime, and maybe lemon, with other tropical fruit as well. Mango, and perhaps a hint of pineapple. The oak barrel comes through with just a hint of tequila.

Lime is even more clear in the taste as are both the tequila and the oak. Spectacular spice from the Sterling, but the tropical aspects of the Motueka are not as evident here as in the aroma. An overlying bitterness from the hops and the lime zest is matched by the sweet caramelly malts. The taste of alcohol is pronounced but not ovewhelming.

Moderate in body with a light sting of carbonation. Slightly drying with a bit of sticky syrup on tongue and lip, and a bit warming.

The aroma was amazing from the start, and the taste matured as the beer warmed. I like everything I've tried from Lickinghole, but this is definitely the best so far.
