On a day trip with mom and dad boettinger looking for a magnolia tree. This has a very nice smoothness (it is oatmeal). Slight strange after taste though. Average taste.

This was my second tasting at the Four Seasons Brewery - and I was so glad I had chosen this oatmeal stout.
Dark rich in color, almost black, the scent was light in coffee and caramel as was the taste, but it all mixed very well as the stout was like velvet in my mouth. I was impressed as the light carbonation - perfect in my opinion - that just added to the overall experience with this offering. I walked away impressed with this little brewery tucked away in Western PA.

Pours a dark brown, almost black color with an off white head. Lacing is evident showing a well hopped, clean, heady brew.
The aroma has the hint of black patent malts and coffee, with some herbal piney hopppiness also.
In the taste, plenty of roast and smoothness from oatmeal, making for a good full bodied stout. Hop presence is strong, with ample herbal, pine and earthy flavors to compliment the bitterness. Still damn smooth, very nice brew.

Very smooth clean taste, no cloying aftertaste, smooth creamy head. Coffee and chocolate notes very well blended making this great with food.
