Drank from 16 oz can. No "born on" date or "drink by" date on the label.

L - Color is expected for it's style, however there is thin to no head.
S - Smells like a porter should.
T - It tastes like a porter should, but a little bit too sweet for me. The beer label says that it finishes dry, but I disagree. Also, it's a bit watery.
F - Too thin for this style. Under carbonated.
O - I purchased this beer because the brewery is very close to where I live, but that will not influence me to buy this beer again. However, it's good enough to make me want to try some other beers that they offer.

So creamy, not too roasty. Very very good.

A bit watery, not much flavor. Not terrible but just not very special either in my opinion, which is pretty much on par with Broad Brook's beers.

Sampling a cellar temp pounder can poured into a snifter. The beer pours a rich cocoa hue with creamy tan head foaming up 2 cm even with a gentle pour. The foam fades slowly to a sturdy edge layer.
Aroma is roasted malt and a bit of brown sugar, but not a robust nose up front.
First sip reveals an average body with smooth texture. Very mild carbonation helps make the beer even more easy to drink. No hint of hops or any booze coming through, which is good as this is a lower alcohol beer.
Flavor is roasted malt and a bit of dark chocolate, good and not flawed, but not overly complex flavors.
This is a nice porter and it drinks very easy. The pounder cans are a plus and I enjoy drinking this brew. Worth a try if you like porters but not something to chase down.
