Green Bench Brewing Co.
Florida, United States | website

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.30%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This our “bench-mark” beer. A medium bodied ale with aromas of soft citrus and earthy pine combined with very subtle notes of tropical fruit. This highly hopped American style IPA leaves your pallet with a lingering dry and bitter finish.

12 oz can, 2-22-16 sticker on the plastic six pack holder (hopefully that is the canning date and not the best before date)

Pours typica Amber nice looking like khaki cap, leaving low sheeting and some ringed lacing.

Citric sniff with grapefruit rind wafting about

Respectable IPA with ample citrus and resinsy hop notes abounding.

More better then decent craft IPA from a slew of new to me at least Florida brewers...very happy to see the Florida beer scene improvements...things have hanged a lot in the past few years..

12oz can poured into a pint glass. The aroma and taste are both filled with citrusy hops and a moderate malt backbone. I appreciate the slight sweetness in the taste and the hops provide a nice lingering bitterness. The hops take on notes of grapefruit and pine.

Poured on draft into a room temp Irish pint glass.

A: Pours a medium gold with a perfect off-white head that maintains well and laces nicely throughout.

S: Bright citrus hops with small pine notes. A nice beer in the nose.

T: Pleasant mild hop bitterness with notes of grapefruit and lemongrass. Not dry and with only a slight lingering bitterness.

M: A full, almost creamy body with a nice palate-scrubbing carbonation presence.

O: Although a little high on the ABV threshold of being called "sessionable", I find this a well-balanced IPA with a pleasant citrus character ideal for drinking in warm weather. A great lawnmower beer by Green Bench.
