375 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep copper body. Clear. Medium white head and a medium collar.
Smell - Uh. I guess I smell coffee. It kinda smells like peanuts. A little vegetal too.
Taste - And it's gross. Green peppers. Lightly tart. Coffee. Some pale malt. Just unpleasant.
Mouthfeel - Medium body. Well carbonated.
Overall - Well this is just bad. What an unpleasant flavor.

Just too much going on. Is it oak? Is it coffee? Is it vanilla? Is it Brett? It's everything, and it's too much. Without the coffee, this beer would be dramatically better. It's forcing its way to the front, and the other flavors don't want to let it shine. It's not terrible, but it's a bit of a mess.

I feel like a low rating warrants a review. There are so few beers I pour down the drain, but this was one I just couldn't finish. It was a mess of odd flavors that did not combine well at all. The smell was the first sign that this was not going to be tasty. It certainly had some coffee smell to it, but that was layered underneath a strange funky aroma of bell peppers (weird, but that's what I get). The flavor was worse. A mess of slightly sour flavor, coffee, a too-smooth mouthfeel, and some oak. This was not one that I would revisit.
