i like this porter quite a bit, a real easy drinker, with quite a bit going on too. a little lighter in color, definitely darker than any brown ale, but not quite as dense and chalky thick as a lot of porters. the head is nice too, more than enough retention, and gives me a classic beer mustache as i sip on it. aroma and flavor of very very dry dark malt. bitter from the roast, but not real hoppy, so that works well. biscuits and oats and breakfast grains, thats what i get from the malt bill of this one, without the real intense roast of other porters. thats part of what helps it be real drinkable, but so is the robust carbonation. you never get is so jovial in a dark beer like this one, and i appreciate that aspect a lot. i liked this very well, not maybe big enough for cold weather, but in a blooming early summer, i think its spot on. these guys are a real up and comer, look for their stuff on shelves before long.
