A heavy wheat saison named for the grey dress wearing female laborer a in France. The play between Pilsner and wheat malts make this the perfect day beer. German Tettnang hops and spicy saison yeast creates a complex subtle brew.

This is Cellarmaker’s take on a grisette, a wheaty saison. It pours a hazy white gold color with some cloudy foaming.

There’s a slightly funky, lightly sour aroma, to this, like a sour mash wheat beer. The flavor is tartly refreshing, with a touch of floral notes, and a clean finish. Reminds me of a beer I had in Italy brewed with farro and spelt. One of the most enjoyable brews at Cellarmaker. A good introduction to one of SF’s newest breweries.
