This poured a tan amber color with pleasing foam. There’s a great aroma on this, initially—more on this in a second—with a hop mélange of tropical fruit, pineapple and guava. Its hop profile has more citrus and pine mixed with orange and grapefruit pith, and a dry finish. I enjoyed it, for the most part, but once it opened further I found myself catching something… off. It’s something I wish I had the palate and the language to describe better. I kept returning to it, as I found this off-putting note in their pale ale and DIPA as well, but just at the outer margins. Here’s hoping that it goes away by the next time I try it.

Not much to say except this is an exceptional IPA. The marriage of simcoe and citra in this ale is remarkably balanced and the hops are featured in a way that sets this apart from most other IPAs. Huge tropical fruits and resiny hop oils fill the nose. Taste is dry and the malt takes the backseat to let the hops take center stage. An absolute joy to consume. The taste is so full of fresh hops that coat the mouth.

Clear gold, light head, good lacing.

The nose is hoppy, but only lightly so. Citrus and herbs

Refreshing and surprisingly spicy. Citrus and astringent bitterness up front, followed by juicy-sweet flavor on the end. Great sparkling mouthfeel.

Overall, great beer. Highly recommended.

Pours orangey gold and quite cloudy. Little bit darker than the norm for Cellarmaker, or at least what I know as the norm. Big white head, foamy and fine. Good lacing and retention. Sweet, hoppy aroma. Tons of tropical fruit. Some floral and resiny flavors. Pineapple, lime, tangerine, pine, grapefruit. All sweet and juicy. Mild background of malt sweetness. Taste is dry with lots of solid hop flavor. Pine, pineapple, grapefruit, lime. Pretty much follows the aroma. Light feel for the abv. Some hop oiliness. Normal carbonation. Excellent IPA. Very easy to drink and bursting with fresh, juicy hops.
