poured from a 16oz can into a narrow gauge willi becher pint glass. pours dark brown but gathers in the glass a shiny, oily black with over two fingers of mocha brown foam head. roasted malts with light coffee and chocolate on the nose. a subtle hint of smoke in both the smell and taste. taste is more chocolate, light vanilla, light coffee with that subtle smoke flavor. really good. very drinkable. full mouthfeel. very nice coffee porter.

16oz can pours out a lovely dark brown and sits opaque in the glass with a finger of dark khaki head. Lovely coffee and roast characteristics on the nose with a dose of smoky beechwood, and the flavors of very dialed in as well, creamy coffee and smooth roast characteristics without being acrid or bitter. Wonderful!

On tap at Windsor Homebrew supply in Anaheim, California.
Ah yes. The hype is real.
Beautiful, deep brown leather. Khaki colored head. Slight retention.
Nose is insane. It’s hard to explain to somebody that doesn’t understand how we talk about beer sometimes. But it really does have all of the greatest characteristics that coffee and cigarettes could bring together. There’s a gentle roast, a hint of smokiness. Also, an ever saw the white creamy sweetness peeks in just for a moment, and then tapers off to a gentle smoke.
The flavor follows the same. The malt foundation is firm, but only gently sweet. The same with the smoke. The roast is gentle yet firm.

I received this in a mixed box from @ronricorossi ! Poured into a Willi Belcher glass.
L- Totally black with a dense creamy
tan one finger head.
S- Aroma of dark roasted espresso beans.
T- Sweet cappuccino creamy flavor
upfront, followed by a slightly tannic
“pucker”. The subtle smoke appears
late.
F- Quite viscous for a Porter. Very fine
carbonation.
O- Outstanding. This touches two bases
being an outstanding Porter and a
fantastic smoked beer! A must try!

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coffee, cocoa, nuts and a light lactose; a hint of smoke. Flavor is dark toasted malt, drip coffee, bakers chocolate, a hint of vanilla, walnuts and a touch of smoke. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A pleasant coffee porter, but only a touch of smoke. I'd have liked a little more smoke in the malt, but the malt base and coffee character are so nice, it's almost not needed. A little bitterness in the finish that could be hops, but also the coffee component. Nice lingering cocoa and coffee finish and fine body. Well done.

Pours a dark, opaque brownish black body; huge head, dense and semi-creamy with rolling mounds of foam (4.25). Coffee permeates the smell; grain char with a bit of cocoa (4.25). Coffee dominates the taste; nice dark malt base; very bold coffee bitterness - like espresso (4.25). Medium-heavy body; silky smooth offset with a light touch of caffeine abrasiveness; sweet base malt feel with a touch of coffee bean dryness (4.0).
Scores in parentheses were my impressions for a mystery beer, part of NBW BIF #16. No overall was given, but thinking it might be a coffee brown ale, I would have given this a 4.25.
Right off, a big coffee nose hits the senses. This is a great looking beer and tastes fine, too. What is missing is the beechwood smoked malt. The coffee just overwhelms the smoke, so a minor ding on the overall score, but as a porter coffee beer, this is pretty awesome.
Pouring temperature: 43 °F; canning info: 4182 PAPUA NEW GUINEA 05/16/22

On tap at Cellarmaker House of Pizza
A: Pours basically black with a frothy khaki head that settles to a firm layer and leaves some nice lacing.
S: Roasty, fresh coffee, a touch of smoke, chocolate, a little char, earthy, a little spice, faint dark fruit, and a little toffee sweetness.
T: Roasty, bold fresh coffee, chocolate, a little char, a touch of smoke, a little spicy pine, hints of vanilla, a bit earthy, hints of dark fruit, and some toffee sweetness.
M: Medium to full body, mild carbonation, creamy smooth.
O: Other breweries, take notes. This is what a coffee porter should be. The coffee shines, and it shines as a whole. Ridiculously tasty well made beer.

draught
Very dark brown that looks a bit thick, has no light transmission through the glass, and has an ample, creamy, tan head. Good amount of dark roasted grains and some caramelized dark malt, to give it an off-dry characteristic. The coffee is there, after the smoke is very much in the background. Finishes with a dark roast grain and note of coffee.
