Pours into a stemmed glass a slight hazed golden with a large blooming bone white head that settles very slowly into a frothy mass.A bit of skunk and cork hits up front in the nose then a nice citric/coriander spice and iron tinge comes thru after a minute or two.Bone dry and slightly chalky on the palate with with herbal and hay coming thru in the finish. As I drink more there is a faint doughy sweetness that comes thru but it's still mainly a dryer palate.Highly drinkable,a good spring and summer outdoor beer.

750 mL bottle. Clear golden. Smells a touch skunked. Herbal hops, breast and doughy malt, and perfumey yeast. Tastes of herbal hops, doughy malt, and a sharp earthy yeastiness. Basement funk in the finish. Medium body. Very nice, despite the bit of skunk.

750ml capped bottle, no dating. Bought at Liquor Shed.

It pours a hazy yellow, dark yellow, great head of foam and lacing.

Smells like a Saison that happens to have significant hop aromas. Think the dry hopped Saison Dupont. Cloves, coriander, yeast, with grassy kinda fruity hop bitterness going on.

Saison qualities intact, tropical fruit hoppiness more than bitterness. The 5% abv makes it supremely drinkable, the dryness makes you yearn for more.

Barely medium bodied with lively but not over the top carbonation.

Such a great beer!

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a hazy brownish orange with scattered floaties and a healthy, three finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of grainy malt with a very pleasant spiciness, hints of citrus and grassy hops, lemon; somewhat mineral. Flavor is grainy malt, some light barnyard funk, light citrus and grassy hops, lemon, hints of light stone fruit. Finishes dry and grassy with a little earthiness. Medium bodied with nice sharp carbonation. A fine, dry saison that combines classic farmhouse malt, light funk and hints of fruit with some citrus leaning North American hops as well as a little more continental grassy hops. Not that hop bitter, but there is a nice interplay between the hops and the lightly funky, sharp farmhouse yeast. Not all that complex, but well balanced between traditional and light hopping; nice and dry. Although its still summer, this has the mood of fall in it and if it's still around I'll get this again.

A: Pours a lightly hazy golden honey in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate golden yellow + burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has as two finger tall dense fizzy foamy white head that reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of grainy malts with minimal amounts of sweetness, spicy yeast, earthy hops and a moderate amount of skunkiness. Just shy of moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit zest, herbal, and citrus/lemon hops

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of grainy malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of spicy saison yeast. Finally there is a moderate flavor of hops - citrus/grapefruit zest, citrus/lemon, herbal, and earthy. The hops contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness which does not linger for too long.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Crisp with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with an interesting combination of hop + yeast flavors/aromas. Enjoyable.

A: The beer is hazy dark yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that has very good retention properties and consistently left a short head covering the surface. The appearance becomes murkier as you get towards the bottom of the bottle.
S: Moderate aromas of yeast along with notes of grassy and herbal hops along with hints of citrusy hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste starts out with a strong dose of yeast flavors and is followed by notes of herbal hops along with hints of citrusy and grassy hops. There is a slight amount of bitterness. The herbal hops linger into the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. A bit of dryness is noticeable.
O: The hops in this saison lend some complexities to the taste.

Nice foamy cap with a golden honey body.

Aroma of hay barn, stiff grass, and faint marshmallow upon agitation.

Flavor is more of the same. Very dry, dusty, lots of raw hop character, some very faint non-fruity esters. Herbs, spicy yeast. Dry, bitter, dry grass finish.

Feel is crisp, dry, and heavily carbonated.

Overall, if I could take western south dakotas Prairie, and drink it - dry grass and all, it would be this beer. Interesting feat for sure.
