L: Deep amber or umber in color. Noticeable sediment floating in the glass. Practically no head or lacing.
S: Toffee, chewy thick aroma of dark fruit, sour tinge in there too. It smells like chocolate milk to me in a way?
T: Largely toffee notes. Malt and caramel featured. It has a dark fruity yet bitter note in there however it’s not a “hoppy” beer in the slightest.
F: medium bodied, lighter than I was anticipating. Not much carbonation.
O: Eh. The fruit and toffee seem to clash for me. It was interesting to have a lighter bodied beer with notes of dark fruit though.

Late summer is not an inappropriate time to enjoy a winter warmer. Especially when you get it for free.
This one pours hazy dark copper with sediment. The nose is largely sweet caramel with some bready malt and a touch of fruity hops. Maybe a bit of apple? The taste is a bit different: reminiscent of a brown ale. Dark bread with toffee and brown sugar. Not much noticeable hop flavor. I don't get any spice that is usually present in the style. With that being said, it would still make a nice addition to a winter evening. It finishes dry with medium body and carbonation.
It's seasonal except when it isn't.

Winter warmer at basically the beginning of the summer? Sure, why not? After all, it's raining out a bit tonight, my first example of the style as well
Pours a cloudy amber, bordering on brown with a finger of tan head that reduces to a ring, no lacing
The first thing that hits me in the aroma is toffee, rich and chewy, along with plums, brown sugar, and mild citrus hops. Wasn't expecting this kind of balance from this, I didn't think this style was known for hops
And the hops come out even more in the taste! In this one, the first taste is hops, piney and lemony, before the dark malt and spice comes in to balance things out. Quite nutty in the finish, pleasantly balanced
Medium bodied with mild carbonation, this goes down very smooth and finishes mostly dry despite the sweetness of the back end of the sip
Now this is one I like. Totally new style for me, and I think this is damn solid. Feels like a real balanced beer, and that's probably the best compliment I can give this one

Good example of an English Pale Ale. It's got the "earthy" hops in the body, but a crisp after-taste.

Interesting beer. Nice pour: copper color, 3F head in a Brooklyn Ocktoberfest mug. Is this a winter warmer? Hmm... don’t think so. More of an English ale.
Piney, minty aroma. Smooth, low carbonated MF. The pine and mint transition to the taste.
Overall- interesting. It’s well done, but the piney, minty flavors are odd in an ale other than an IPA.

On tap at a local Flatbread. Dark color nice but no lacing. Nice winter spice aroma but slim feel and taste.

Served in a glass at The '06 House Pub in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
A: Pours a hazy orange amber with a solid white head, strong retention and lacing.
S: Aromas of caramel and woods with a distinct cherry note.
T: Flavor largely caramel. I thought I detected a butterscotch note (not unpleasantly so), but this disappeared as it warmed. Light bitterness (appropriately so).
M: Light to medium bodied with solid effervescence.
O: An enjoyable, light bodied brown ale. Not sure it is characterized as a Winter Warmer.
